I am only referring to the emmissions legality in Cali the lift pumps are part of the emisions control (covered by emisions warranty)with out an EO sticker they may not fly

Im glad we dont have all these emissions checks here. I just dont see how a fuel pump could cause a problems with an inspection though. Its the engine that creates the pollution not the pump that supplies the fuel ,,right ???

You can hear it but i dont think its too loud. IMO

It was when air was still present in the sys. I can hear it when the radio is off in cab but not offensive. It has a rubber isolator between the two mounting brackets, I am sure that helps a ton. I will check it tomorrow to see how loud it is outside the cab and give you a reply. I have only run/ driven the truck to the gas station and to work with the sys on it not much time.

Since you got the 95/150 I also suggest replacing the f/w sep with a BF1212 when you can. . The F/W sep on the FASS doesn't even have f/w separation specs, so who knows what it does. The BF1212 meets/exceeds the f/w sep specs for your 09.

Where do you get that filter, who makes it. Still not up to speed on aftermarket stuff for my truck. Thanks for the insight.

Unless the 6. 7 CTD went back to an engine mounted lift pump, the only problem that I see with this kit is that it puts the water/fuel separator on the pressure side of the in tank fuel lift pump. ALL of the TDR threads and filter manufacturers recommendations indicate that while water/fuel separation CAN be performed on the pressure side, it is MUCH more effective on the suction side, simply because pressure (squeezing) tends to emulsify (join together on a molecular scale) the water and fuel molecules, while suction doe NOT emulsfify the mixture. That is ahy the AirDog and Fass systems put the F/W separator on the suction side and the final fuel 2 mic filter on the pressure side. It is just a better way of doing things. Costs more though... :-laf

This is very true... but I'll take my 2filters at 98% free water and 95% emulsified water removal filter on the pressure side any day over the 50% free water and 0% emulsified water on the suction side with an AD or FASS 95.

Do you know if the ratings on the filters which you use (OR filters in general) apply to BOTH suction and pressure applications??

The BF1212 is a suction filter and the PF7977 is a pressure filter. I have been told by Baldwin the BF1212 is as effective on pressure as suction, as long as the pressure is low. Fleetguard told me the same thing on their FS1212.

I'm interested in the FASS that you have and the new quiet one that Genos Garage is now carrying.



Does anyone have information on a comparison between the new quiet pump & single filter "FASS_P_D07_095G" and the older design pump & dual filter "FASS_T_D07_095G"?

Hrmm didn't know that but... it's bound to do a much better job than stock, being a dedicated separator I would think.

No CARB#. We're out of luck in Ca w/emissions coming up. Airdog has a CARB compliance#.

AH64ID lOOKING AT THE PICTURES OF YOUR INSTALLATION COULD YOU TELL ME JUST WHAT FITTINGS YOU USED TO CONNECT THE RUBBER FUEL HOSE TO THE STEEL FUEL LINE.

They are 3/8" compression fittings, with NPT-push-lok fittings.

Great!!!!!! some people I have talked to about these fittings were concerned that brass compression fittings would not crimp into steel and therefore might be prone to leakage. any problem with leakage so far.

Talked to brandon today at Genos and he has sent the following message regarding the Dodge severe service filter set up.





So far I am not that impressed with the kit. I am not sure Dodge is either because it has been cancelled once before and they are now releasing it again.

I believe there are better options available for almost half the price. The "Severe duty " filter uses similar filters as some of the aftermarket filter kits that are available for under $300. 00.

So at the moment I would rather see someone invest in a FASS system mainly because you get better filtration and a quality pump with a lifetime warranty for under $600. 00.

So that is my answer in a nutshell. Let me know if you have any questions.

I talked to the parts manager at my local Dodge dealer the other day & he told me the Severe Duty Filtration Kit is no longer available... he did not know why.

The parts manager found the Severe Duty Filtration Kits on his computer & gave me a price of $750 & told me he didn't have one in stock but would check with the warehouse. The warehouse told him Chrysler pulled them from the shelves & is no longer selling them.
