What can I expect to pay to have the injection pump replaced in my 95 12valve? Truck has an issue that's pointing to pump replacement, extensive reading for months leads me to believe there is a plunger sticking. whats a fair price to have this done, parts & labor? Probably have a very mild plate and GSK installed since they will have pump on the bench. Truck is 3500 4x4 automatic almost bone stock with 187k miles. I'm located in Indy btw.

If you are capable of doing the R & R yourself you will save a lot of money over the $200 a timing kit costs.

Capable yes, but lack time, also don't want to invest for a one time deal on the tools. Too many other projects going on in my shop. I will give Schied a call. I got a price from the guy in North Vernon also.

I would look at a performance 215 hp pump as one to swap in quickly, that way your only down a day or so. Or have your pump rebuilt and get a governor spring kit installed and 181 delivery valves. Your 95 has the 151 DV's like mine I think. Adding bigger DV's will open up things for you, then you can upgrade the injectors too and the little pump will handle them. Just an upgraded pump and 215 injectors would be a nice improvement. I can't really recommend going with the high flow delivery valves like I did unless you like rolling thick black smoke. But, my old truck is fun.

I don't know what mine is putting out, but it runs like a rapped ape with the bolt on pump mods. I've added big smokey injectors and a larger turbo. Funny when I surprise people in traffic that try to keep me from merging, runs right up to 100 quicker than even I expected. I started with a TST#6 plate on my 160 hp auto and it got addictive from there. It would suck to go back stock!

If you have a plate installed, make sure its done right. My governor arm needed a big adjustment from stock with a #6 plate. The plates with a point on them need a GOV arm adjustment to work right in any position. Mine slid forward with "cut" DV's and 370's hits hard with my turbo, gotta behave myself when driving it around town more. Its easy to activate the waste gate now. I still like the 12 valve the best, instant power. But, my 03 is almost stock, so I might think different if I had more bombs on the 3rd gen.

My truck is mostly stock with marine injectors and bumped up timing. It's an improvement over stock.
I still have a TST cam plate on the shelf in the garage for whenever I get around to replacing the stock clutch. :D

I had the same truck and still have the engine. My first fuel "BOMB" was a set of 215 injectors, some 181 DV's, and a 3K GSK. It was an excellent upgrade to the stock system. A good step up in power and drivability and no adverse effects. I would recommend this setup for someone not wanting to "go big" but just wanting a decent upgrade.

Had Schied R&R the pump, rebuild and calibrate it, said they turned it up around 15%, bumped timing a bit also. It had a sticky plunger as I suspected. They replaced side cover gasket and ran valves with new valve cover gaskets also while it was apart. Running great now, better than new.
