i installed the preasusre kit and read that the factory f. p. sending unit only reads upto 27,500 psi. knowing this is there a fuel pres sending unit that reads any higher?the instructions state;that if pres shoots to 27,500 psi and stays, that it is safe to assume the pres is all of 28,000 to 29,500. and me using the six-gun did see the pres lock on 27,500. any idea of cost for new send unit?

I also have an DiPricol rail gauge. However, I don't think the factory sending unit is capable of reading 27K. I've never seen my gauge passed 22K.

I've seen my gauge read over 22k a lot of times. I think the upper limit of the OEM rail pressure sensor corresponds to either 27k or 27. 5k psi.

There's a company now making a kit that uses an aftermarket rp sensor that reads to 30k+... I can't remember who though off the top of my head... maybe the newest Autometer series that just came out?

Maybe because my truck never sees over 2K RPM. :-laf To ease the fuel burden ($5. 29 here in Sacramento) I drive slower than grandma. I ease from a dead sto on 1st and row to all 6 gears as fast as possible without lugging the Cummins. At my highway speed of 60 MPH, the engine is turning a hair under 1. 7K and RPright at about 17K. So yest my statement still holds true... never seen 22K on my DiPricol RP gauge. :)

again with the six-gun im seeing 27. 5 psi in the rail staying there as long as the pedal is floored ,i want a sending unit that will read past the factorys 27. 5 psi limits.
