geno's told me that prime-loc was no longer in business about a month ago but i went to there website and sent them an email which they answered. they gave me a price then. i'd say they are still in business.
They (Ashland Tech) are still in business but no longer produce the Prime Location kit. Not because of people like FASS. The 12valve kits were there big seller and when they stopped making 12v's the demand slowly went away. They have now moved on to other things.
Could we put together a parts list to make them on our own, or is that against the rules? I was always wondering about this but I didn't want to step on the toes or the design of prime loc. I wouldn't think it would be too hard, but I have never seen one either. Just a thought.
There were some that tried the Prime-Lok on their 24v only to discover it was too restrictive for the weak lift pump. . . pressures at the VP44 were too low under load. It worked fine on the 12v because of the stronger pump. There was a huge heated thread on this about 4 years ago.
I put a Filter Engineering Remote fuel filter on my '94 this spring. I didn't want a prime-loc because I have a Banks Twin Ram intake manifold and their mount would not work. A TDR member told me about this filter.
It mounts up on the boss in the corner. It has 2 thick rubber pads to cut the vibration (I noticed a slight vibration after install).
It's a nice solid mount. The hoses are pre-cut and the fittings are mounted to the hoses.
I am happy with it. It uses the OEM '94-'86 FS1253 fuel filter. I tried the better FS19519 filter, but it's about 3/4" too long.
