Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) PrimeLoc fuel filter relocater

I am thinking about switching to this setup and am looking for feedback frome those of you who have it .



is it easy to install and has it gave you any problems?



i am getting tired of the hassle of changing the fuel filter in the stock location.

I would advise against it. It's just in the way if you want to do any work in that area. Some people have had problems and some people are fans (no problems yet I guess). If you remove the nuts that fasten the master cylinder to the brake booster and lean the cylinder toward the fender it's pretty easy to change the fuel filter.

I have had one for several years now and I am coming to the conclusion that it is not a worthwhile accessory. I always end up taking it off whenever I do anything on the left side of the engine. The filter change is not that difficult and doesn't normally need to be done frequently.



I kept the original parts and I suspect the day will come when I take it off permanently. :{

I've had mine for about 2 years. They are correct, you do have to remove four bolts every time you want to tweak the pump. I like it, haven't had any problems, and the optional differential pressure gauge takes the guesswork out of deciding when to change the filter. Originially I was worried that placing the filter further away from the engine would make it easier for the filter to plug with gelled fuel, but so far no problems.

I think it was one of the first accessories I installed with my dad, now I feel it was one that I put in while sort of in a state of paranoid panic. After reading the horror stories of that darn fuel filter I thought "oh boy I gotta have one of those". But now that I have been "in" the engine more and am now starting to work on and near the fuel pump more, gsks, soon fuel plate, I can see I could have maybe got along with out it. I don't hate it but I guess I have more confidence now that a fuel filter change from the stock location isn't that bad, but let me say this set up is way more convinient. It also made it easy for me to spot a cracked fuel filter, something that would have been harder in the original location. Funny, when my dad first removed the filter, the day we did the install, he had it out in like 2 minutes, using a strap type filter wrench:--) , so there I am standing with that "oh my gosh, I just spent how much on this?!" and there goes my dad " this is supposed to be hard to change?", hey he had more training then me-KC135s for 20 years .

I got one and I like it. Yes I do have remove 2 extra bolts when accesing the afc to slide the plate or put in a TST kit. But hey - how often do you do that? I"m happy with mine and am glad I installed it. To each his own. :-{}
