Mr. Reeves the Superman Hero?

Ever heard of Oxiban?

I'm trying to figure out how to print on plastic. Anyone know of where I can go to find answers?? I'm thinking a fancy laser jet would do it but I don't know for sure. I went to one printing shop, and they weren't much help. Any ideas?

What kind of plastic?

Most printers (ink jet, laser, copiers... ) have their own "formula" of plastic film that will work. You just have to make sure you're using the right stuff.

I'm trying to custom print switch actuators. They are about 2 inches long and about an inch wide, and over about 1 inch deep. I'm sure it will need to be a special printer of some kind.

How do they print on writing pens?? it would be kinda the same idea, I think... .

Todd That link is pretty sweet. I'm assuming that is a 3d printer??

On a similar note, does anybody know how to print/cutouts in thin plastic. What I want to do with the center cubby in my 3rd gen is mount a face plate over the cubby with a custom cutout for the Jordan brake controller then 4-6 auxiliary switches to the right of it for aux. backup lights, exhaust brake, etc. (similar to the new Ford IBC and built in switches).

What I want is a thin (1/16") piece of plastic with the letters in small font cutout of it. Then laminate that over a piece of translucent green plastic with lights behind it that would be controlled by the dash lights and the switches. It would both indicate what each switch is and whether or not it is on or off.

Any idears?
