I have been thinking about these tires for my truck, I really only need the all-terrains not the mud-terrains but the A/Ts only come in 6ply and the M/Ts come in 8ply.
How much louder would the M/Ts be?
How much faster would they wear?

I have the BFG muds and the PRO COMPS I think are very close to the same design--anyway the tire noise IMO is not bad at all---I also have the PC's as spares in my garage(315 75R16) I remember the guys at the 4 WHL didn't want to put them on the stock rims because they felt the tire bulge would produce more wear in the middle(warranty issue), but I assured them these were my spares and I understood the consequences-they wanted me to go smaller but I said no-just something to think about-as for wear well I think they're pretty good tires and all my experiences with 4 WHL have been very good-----chris

I have had the ProComp AT's (305/70-16) on my truck for about 4000 miles. They show little or no wear yet. Of course with my luck, I missed the buy 3, get 1 free. The AT's also have a 50,000 mile warranty. The MT's do not. So far, I couldn't be any happier with them. I have had both the BFG AT's and MT's. I like these as much, if not more. Very quiet on the road, as well.

Jeff could you do me a favor and see what the weight rating on your Pro-Comps are, looking at their website it shows the A/Ts only rated for 2200lbs and the M/Ts rated for a little over 2900lbs, I called Four wheel today and they said they are both load range D which would be 2900+lbs, but he didn't have any in stock to look at.

There are at least two sizes and weight ratings. One is listed as a 33/12. 50 and the other 305/70. The ones I have are 305/70-16 rated at 2900 lbs. each. If they have these on sale again next fall, I will buy another set to run strictly in the winter. I love 'em so far !

Hey guys, I just found out yesterday that these tires are made by Cooper (per 4Wheel Parts). Just thought I'd let everyone know. I really like the MT's, but I won't need tires for a few more months & I'm trying to save my money to give it to the IRS - I'm such a nice guy.

TXRam, Thanks for the info. I found out BFGoodrich tires are made by Michelin! I have not had the ProComp A/T tires on my truck yet, but I can tell you they make fantastic street tires. Best tires I ever had on My Trans AM were ProComps. I tried BFGoodrich Radial TA's after the ProComps and crashed my car cause the BFG's didn't stick nearly as well. I'm going to get a set of the A/Ts while the 4 for the price of 3 sale is on and stash em away...

Got my ProComps mounted... great tires at a great price. What a change from the stock 245s to the 305 A/Ts. Total price for purchase, shipping, mounting, and balancing... $136 per tire!
