I only want to know trouble you been having or had.

I have already heard the good side of ats. I want to know what bad has happened.

also did search..... nothing helped

Only trouble I've had so far is I lost OD while just driving deadhead (MT) back to Bristol, IN one day. All at once she just dropped out and wouldn't go back in. Had to drive 500 miles in 3rd gear, just slowed her down and enjoyed the ride. Happened in Salt Lake City, UT. I called ATS and let them know, I was headed back through Lakewood, CO anyway. They had me give them a call when I landed in town, was late afternoon when I called. They requested I drop OTR PU off at their shop and they'ed have a look. Next day they called and said come pick it up. Faster service I couldn't ask for, I ask how much, they said covered under warranty. They really couldn't say what had gone wrong, because they know I'm on the road with this vehicle, they elected to swap out the transmission to minimize my down time, and would determine what had failed later. Which I really appreciated, I could care less what went wrong, unless it's something that I am doing wrong, then I want to correct what I'm doing. Other than that the faster I get back out on the road the better. Any dealings with ATS so far have been First Class and Top Rate.

Cheers,

Steve J.

I have a suncoast t/c and trans. Its a lot of fun to drive and works very well. I had a tough experience with the installer, so I had to redo a lot of stuff myself.

Surprisingly ( after spending that amount of money), my experience with Suncoast's customer service was not too good. When I needed an extra set of installation instructions sent to me, they said it would make the mail that day. Two weeks later, when I had not received the instructions, I called back. After four days of not getting a call returned, I finally was allowed the honor of speaking with a guy named Joe. He seemed aggravated about the call, and told me I would get the instructions. Well, that was eight weeks ago and still no instructions. This was not the only problem I had with Suncoast and help after the sale.

At least I learned how to install, troubleshoot, wire, and tune a transmission for myself. So I guess my advice is this... . Maybe there is a reason all of these guys are pimpin two companies more than the others... . Lesson learned.

I hope that my understanding of forum rules/policies is correct, and I dont hurt any feelings.

ATS

The triplelok converter and valve body is awesome,I did the install myself but would not recommend this without the proper hoist, trans jack, engine stand, tools. Now the commander is a different story they sent me the wrong pin connector to the commander fried two units, and trip several codes, burn two 30-AMP breakers they are sending another unit with the right connector, hope this works, customer service is good

ATS = Great customer service!!

The lock up is awsome.

I have a 12 valve. It makes alot of power and torque all below 2500 rpm this makes shift points and fluid coupling very important

I originally had the commander controller.

We were having trouble with shift points, so ATS swapped the commander for the EMJAY. straight across. no charge.

(I did my own install on everything).

We had a gov pressure trouble code, and ATS sent me the regulator to fix the problem. FREE!

I am not impressed with the fluid coupling with this particular ATS convertor.

Due to MY lack of RPM... It just doesn't move the truck like I thought it would.

Here's the coolest part.

ATS is working on a tighter convertor for me.

Excelent customer service... .

:D :D :D

Thre out of three smiles. .

I have the triple disc Suncoast TC and VB. I have had zero problems or issues with Suncoast. I would do it again.

No problems with the transmission at all, have had the Stage 2 for roughly 25k miles and the Stage 5 for maybe 8k miles or so. Only issue was when I picked it up from having the stage 5 done they forgot to put in a resistor or something, it put the truck in limp mode all the time. Went back the next day, 5 minutes later I was back on the road and all :D

NO PROBLEMS with either of my ATS equipped trucks!!

I have two (2) of their ATS Stage IV TripleLok's; one in

a 1996 Dodge CTD 4X4 and one in a 2002 Dodge CTD

24 valve. The ATS transmission in the 96' has over 70,000 hard

miles on it including towing heavy in the mountains

(11,600 lbs. ) and drag racing of both trucks!! The 96'

also has over fifty (50) drag race "launches" and I am

still running the stock shafts in that truck!!

Great customer service and excellent warranty.

No Problem

I love my ATS setup. Buying the ATS transmission has to be the best money I have spent on my truck. The torque converter is awesome, that billet front cover will not flex or warp under high torque application like the stamped front covers will. With that front cover and the extra lock-up clutch surface there is no chance of slipping. It is one rock solid unit.

What Edward said!:D

I've got 40,000 miles on my ATS and no problems. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Best money I ever spent too!

Sounds great. I was hoping that more SunCoast would have responeded, but maybe tge mass of ATS owners should be a clue, that this is a top rate piece of equipment.

Thanks for everyone's imput.

I have been researching ATS for a while and plan to get one installed before to long. Will at ATS has been very helpful and informative on what the transmission and TC will do. Plus after reading the "Earthroamer" article on ATS, I know which trans company I will be buying from.

He asked for what problems we have had and I have had my overdrive cluthes go out twice on my ATS. I am not trying to start a war, just my experience. (ATS owners seem to be sensitive and fanatical) I know others have had good luck with them, but I think the line pressure is too low, just my opinion.
