Problem 06 2500 Paint

my '03 with 50k has body rot above the rear wheel wells. last service manager looked at and promised me a factory service manager would be out to look at it and was sure he could get it warranteed even suggesting they would put on an entire new bed since the rot is so bad they couldn't warranty the repair without replacing the bed sides and that exceeds 50% of the repair cost. turns out he was lying to me stringing me along while he was searching for a new job. new service manager tells me i was lied to as if i didn't know and tells me dodge will not cover under warranty since it's not rotted through & since i've made them aware & it's in the computer it now becomes owner-neglect if i don't fix it on my own so they will not cover the repair. this is besides the exhaust rotting off the truck, a/c blows when it wants and truck going back for the 6th time for no overdrive. this is absurd, the worst dealer i've ever dealt with and the biggest POS i've ever owned. i've really begun to HATE this truck and am seriously beginning to think about getting rid of it and going back to ford. to say this truck and my dealings with this incompetent, lying, thieving dealer have been frustrating & disappointing would be a gross understatement. dodge SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's interesting. I haven't heard of stock stainless steel exhausts rotting.

my stock exhaust wasn't stainless. if it is it's an incredibly low grade of stainless because it was rotted right through at the tailpipe/muffler. i'm so disgusted with this truck it might be on it's way out. at 50k babied miles i should not be having these problems compounded by a dealer incapable of doing anything right, lying to pacify me or just outright screwing me. my dodge experience has sucked. i'm going back to ford.

I've found the same thing...

After reading your post, I examined my truck and found the same thing. I just bought it; didn't notice it at the dealer. This leads me to think it must have been buffed out or clay-magic'd prior to sale. I can't get it out with wax alone. Have you gotten anywhere with your local dealer? I'm having a friend who is a painter at the local GM dealer check it out prior to taking it to the dealer. Any advice?

Rail dust Update

My dealer said too bad... 2nd owner, 30K miles... they claim the original owner should have taken care of it. Looks like I have a 10 foot paintjob (looks fine from 10 feet)... should have saved myself the hassle and not even taken it to the dealer.
