Young man, You are being given some outstanding advice here from people who have been where you are. I was in a similar situation 30 years ago when I was your age. I gave in to her wishes, and have lived to regret it on a daily basis. I switched education choices, and later on changed careers to suit her better. Guess what? She left anyway. You cannot remake yourself into something or someone just to keep her happy. Or worse, to keep the peace. Do NOT do it. If you don`t stand firm when you are so obviously correct in your decision, this little girl will make you miserable forever. Let her know WHY you are doing something, but do NOT even TRY to argue the point with her. She is not capable of a rational debate, from what you have told us. You have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with someone else. She is not. Stay the course you have started on. It WILL get better. Trust me, I been there. PM any, or all of us when you are down. We WILL be there to talk to. Don.

Well here's my take on the situation, and this comes from a guy that's been screwed over in a bad way by too many women for too long. The girl is obviously immature and has not a bit of responsibility. She almost sounds like a daddy's girl, but since she's still in high school I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. My opinion is to talk to her and tell her that you are busting your cajones to make a living and a future for ya'll. If that's not good enough for her then kick her sorry ass to the curb cause you're way better off without that misery. I went down the exact same road 8 months ago and that's why I'm single now. Look at it this way, if you're single you can console yourself in your truck and use the money you save on it. You won't have to pay for her **** so now you can BOMB your truck. See it's a win-win situation.



I too am putting my $ on 3... I know she can handle herself in any situation. :-laf

Boy does this bring back memories from when I went through all this 10 years ago. When I was 17 and a senior in high school I had a girlfriend that was like this. She tried to get me to see things her way, and for nearly a year I did. She kept saying how we were going to get married right after high school. I finally snapped out of it. Nick, you'll know it when the right one shows up. This one doesn't sound like she's it. You know the importance of school and work. If she truly loved you, she would too. I found the love of my life 7 years ago and we've been married for a year and a half. She supports me in everything I do and I do the same for her. If you are having any doubts about the future of this relationship, get out now. You don't have that much invested in it. AND DON"T GET HER PREGNANT!!!!
