I completed the install of my new ATS transmission, triple lock torque converter, and controller; but now I have problems.

After 2-3 minutes of running the OD Off light comes on and the trans. will not go into overdrive, after 2-3 more minutes the trans. temp idiot light comes on, even trans fluid temp is not even to 110* yet.....

Replaced trans control relay and double checked all connectors to the trans, and now am completely lost, please help!!!

I think Rusty has the right ideal, ATS should be your first stop. I do not want to speculate, there are many steps to the install and anyone could yield a problem. I did have a problem after my install too, one was a faulty Commander. They sent me the latest greatest version and it has worked fine. The other problem was the trany wanted to stay in first gear for too long. This only happens one start up, the first time the transmission is put into drive after starting the engine, it will stay in first gear too long. Once it does shift, it works perfectly until the engine is shut off, then it repeats itself. They are still in the process of resolving this issue. Ats has always responded fast and with 100% professionalism. The Installer TST, has not been so quick to react, I'll let you know how it turns out.

You are both correct, ATS is the first place to go. I have also been working with them; but I am now of the opinion that the issue is with the electrical system of the truck.

Taking it in tommorrow to a buddies shop for diagnostic check.

The truck is at the 2nd shop now, still no positive answer. Looks to be an issue with the temp. sending unit, but not sure.

Will keep posted of results!

try these checks,... check to make sure the connection at the trans, the big 8 prong one is secure, pull the trans relay in the fuse box in the engine compartment and run a wire from the key to the center big prong. Do not put the relay back in. Pull the controller to see if that could be defective. Is the truck taking off in third gear? Sounds like it could be in limp mode. Also don't rule out the PCM. Had two PCM go out this week.

The transmissions are very complicated. There are so many inputs which have to be correct. I'm glad I had ATS do mine!

I think your valve body electronics are having issues.

Call ATS monday, they'll take care of you.

DONE!

Oo. Just got my truck back, issue was with the temp. transducer and wire harness. (wrong for my truck, correct for the manufacture date) Dodge makes so many mid year changes to these trucks, I do not know how they can even keep it straight themselves.

ATS has been great in working with me in getting this solved, especially given the 1500 mile distance.
