Problems corrected in latest '02's?

Seems like a lot of problems. such as lift pumps, clock springs, crankshaft position sensors, etc. , have been around long enough for DC to have attempted some mods or revisions and upgrades to eliminate them... My '02 was built in january of '02 - wonder if any of the above, or other chronic problems have been corrected in it - or whether I still have lots of potential issues to look forward to...

Only time will tell. The clockspring was mostly an 01 problem, and the 01's had more lift pump problems too, but not all, my Y2K had a weak pump. I really hope they have, good luck on your 02.

Neither the '01/'02s have a CKP- crank postion sensor.

Wonder how the transfer case / front driveshaft will hold up over 500k miles with the CAD delete on the 02's & 03's.

My 02 goes in the shop for a leak between the bell housing & trans. The trans has to come out of it. It has 11500 miles on it. It started to leak soon after I bought it. Jeff

I have had my 02 a couple of weeks. So far so good. A lot of things that irritated me about my 96 have been taken care of. Love those 4 wheel disc brakes.

12,000 trouble free miles so far. Knock on wood! The only thing I need to change is the thermostat.

02' Driving fine

No problems on my 02'.



6500 miles in 2 months riding around empty and hauling dirtbikes and 4 wheelers. I love the Disc brakes on the 02' my 01' Off-Road 1500 was terrible at braking. Better Fuel Mileage in my 02' 2500 avg YTD 18. 64 MPG on 341. 74 gallons of fuel.



No complaints about my baby, next I need to do some sound insulation for the cab and install my Pyro.

I have just over 2000 miles in two months with no problems. I can't find anything to complain to the dealer about. They did a good job of cleaning and detailing my truck before delivery. I figured that this was the best time to buy as next years are changing, no high output and 6 speed in California, and the current one should be troubleshooted out by now. So far so good but time will tell.

Mine doesn't have the vacuum disconnect either, but the '02 FSM I bought still has the section in it covering the system. What gives How'd you get it on yours?My Father-in-laws truck don't have it either. What's goin' on:{

Jeff how much was it leaking? I have just over 1000 miles and noticed oil on the bellhousing near the vent hole. Thought it was just some oil that spun off the clutch assembly ie some assembly lube etc. . Now you have me wondering if there might be a leak.

Dennis, It's not a big leak. It does have the bottom of my trans covered with fluid. When the truck is sitting there is always a wet spot on the trans. Just keep an eye on it. Jeff
