Installed an Oil cooler from the Perma Cool oil cooler

My 04. 5 Truck has always had higher EGT's than I liked when new stock and after I installed a Juce w/o Attitude on it. I installed the AutoMeter Phantom EGT gauge when the truck was new. I just now installed the Attitude monitor and the Auto gauge reads almost 150 Degree higher when over 1300 on the Attitude gauge. I removed the probes and tested them with the flame from a propane torch and there is the same difference. I tested the pyro on my puller tractor and it seems to be more in line with the Attitude gauge. Is there someone that has delt with AutoMeter on something like this? The gauge is almost 3. 5 years old. I suppose I will be just left hanging. Any Ideas?

I am getting odd readings with my autometer as well. One day it will read high and the next it will read what I believe is normal. Autometer emailed me a chart to test readings and the probe checked out. I think the gauge is the problem. I haven't been able to figure out why else I would get a 300 temp at idle one day and 250 the next, or 1000 on one hill and 1300 on the next.

I've been having the same problem with mine. I took out a buddy's and put his in my truck (just the guage), and it read about 200 lower. Called autometer, they told me to remove the probe leads from the connector that goes into the back of the gauge, power it up, and see what the needle sits at for "calibration". Haven't gotten around to doing it yet, though.

My Autometer phantom is the same way. Autometer had some problems with them when i called them they new just what i was talking about. Mine is also super slow

I'm having wierd readings on my z-series. I called the vendor that sold it looking to see if they could have Autometer repair it - No Go. So before purchasing a new one, I removed the face ring and disassembled the gage (today actually). So far I've found one very poor solder joint and the yellow probe wire having a short in it due to the wire insulation rubbing against a solder pin. I think this might be why the darn thing would read all sorts of temps depending on the cab temp and the number of bumps I drove over. Rather poor workmanship on my gage...
