A friend tells me his fuel sender is acting up (03 ETC). Almost a full tank of fuel, pulls out of the parking lot and it drops to empty and the light comes on. Over the course of the next few miles it creeps back up to 1/4 tank and the light turns off. Less than 150 miles on this tank so far. I told him to go fill up and see what happens but... ... anybody seen this before? Thanks.

On the Gen II's the screws that position the float assembly would wear a low spot in the float, causing it to hang up. I cured mine putting stainless steel fender wadhers under the screws. Don't know if Gen III's are the same...

I know there were troubles with the early second gens, I've replace a couple of them in a 96 and another in a 98. This was the first problem I've heard of in the new trucks, just getting a feeling for what's out there :)
