Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) problems with TST box on 99 dodge

I have a buddy that has a 99 dodge with a TST box on it,auto trans,he says when he is driving at cruise speed of 55 to 65 mph when the turbo boost is low,his power shuts down,rpms drop,in order to go on he has to smash the accelarotor to the floor the third time before the power kicks back on,any answers. I told him to call TST

Most likely not the box. Sounds like a VP44.

I had the same problem and it ended up being a vp44

One quick check if he's POSITIVE it's the box would be the wiring connections. I cannot emphasize enough that from personal experience the TST box wiring connections really should be soldered.

sounds like what mine did when the vp was dying. check for a code p0216.

Need to scan that truck! If you have the time... pull the TST box off and pull the harness loose from the truck and go for a test drive. I have seen it that the box is good but either a connection is bad or there is a bad spot in the harness. .

I think my first plan of action would be to have the truck scanned for codes... Got a buddy with a scan tool since the 99's wont tell you with the 3 key on action...
