National Tire and Wheel as well as 4WheelParts have the "buy 3 get 1 free" sale again... starting March 1st...

just might have to order a new set of Xterrains... they have been fantastic tires for me. I have about 1/3 tread left... approximately 35K on tires...

p. s. it isn't advertised on 4WP's website yet but I saw it in the new 4wheeler magazine...

Thanks for posting this Patriot. I will shop around some more.

I wish I had saw this last week. Yes this is 4 LT315/75R16 X-Terrains. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33745&item=2457561821 :mad: :{

not for me it's not cheaper... those guys on ebay want $140 for shipping... NTW and 4WP is $60...

I checked NTW's price about a week or two ago... I didn't think it had changed... they were always about $20 higher than 4WP's ... at least that was my impression.

I do know for sure that 4WP's raises their prices before they go buy 3 get 1 free...

the first set of Xterrains I bought two years ago was a steal...

I paid $210 a tire, of course it was buy three get one free and I also talked 4WP's in to giving me free shipping... $630 to the door for a set of four... don't think I will be getting that deal again...

I have been watching the prices for about 3-4 months, anticipating the need for replacement in that timeframe. To my surprise my Xterrains still have plenty of tread after 35K... I will easily make it to 40K... maybe more... I don't like to run too much less than 3/16" of tread on my tires... so they will probably come off with a little life left on them...

if you find them cheaper than $750 to the door... let me know...

thanks!

You were right Patriot Diesel. The eBay guys want $39 each tire for shipping. That's too much.

I bought my M/T Wheels from Desert rat and was very happy. Lowest price on the web. I hope they have a decent price on the X-Terrain tires. They have real good shipping costs. $75 for 4 tires.

I am not positive, but I thought the X-Terrains were $212@ NT&W last week. I bought Denman Coyote tires from them a few years ago. I was happy with them too.

I'll keep an eye on 4wheelparts too.

If I can find a good deal (I doubt it) I will let you know.

I hope I don't have to add 4 of these to my shopping cart. Not a great tire but a very good $.

Bill...

I have heard in the past that the rovers are a good tire but that they don't last much more than 20-25K... so if that's the case they are priced about right.

My Xterrains have been the best wearing truck tire I have ever had... . I am really surprised.

When shopping on the net or buying Thur catalog, only those that actually shop smart will reap the rewards. To do that, you most anticipate your needs. That simply means if you are the type that only buys tires or accessories when you need them, you will not do very well. To take full advantage of the awesome specials offered, you have to be willing and able to buy when the time is right, not just when you need something.

I started late fall, looking and planing for my spring projects. Buy doing this I give myself a large window of opportunity to work in, plus I have plenty of time to research and comparison shop. Many will think this is strictly bull****, but the truth is, if you are willing to do alittle work you can DOUBLE, yes I said DOUBLE your money on the web.

To do this, you just have to make a detailed list of what you want, research all the manufacturers web sites. You should be looking for your particular needs, part numbers for your vehicles, colors offered, size, type, what ever is important to the fit and use of the product. This is very important, you need to know as much as you can, this way you will end up with the parts and results you wanted. After you are armed with the necessary particulars of the parts and pieces needed, you can how start the searching. I always have my "Core" places I go. These are businesses I have Delta with in the past, know how they work and are very comfortable with buying from them. You will need to start a spread sheet, list the parts wanted, you will have to list each and every part. Then list your businesses, start with listing your "core" businesses first, and enter there prices. Now do your searches, remember when you add new businesses to the list, get the price but also any additional info such as shipping handling, minimum order amounts, etc. I like to get a feel for the place, hows the web site layout? Is it easy to use? If it is not user friendly, or not very informative, I usually skip it. As your spread sheet grows you will start to get a feeling of what is a good price, and what isn't. There are a few rules, one is try not to buy any single items, this make shipping to costly. The more items you can purchase from a single source the better. Also you will have to visit the sites on a weekly basis, you will be looking for Internet Specials, Weekly Specials, Mark downs, clearance and close outs. Also look for shipping specials, discounts, and bonus offerings.

I know this sounds like alot to do..... but it is worth it. You have to work very hard to get "fun money", so why not make it go as far as possible? Hear are a few examples of what I got this winter.

1. I wanted to get some new wheels and tires for my wifes car. I had decided on a few styles and brands of wheels and tires, and keep looking and waiting for the right sale. I ended up ordering in January, I got 4 17" aluminum wheels w/215-45-17 Kumo tires. Mounted and balanced for free/shipped for free and they included the lug nuts covers and road hazard all for 650 bucks. Same wheels local would have been 925. 00, tires local 720. 00. It would have cost me $1,743. 70 to buy the same wheel/tires, mount balance and tax locally. That means I saved 995. 00 on just one purchase, also no tax on the web!

2. I needed (wanted) some different tires and wheels for my Dodge. I ordered the Trxus tires from 4 Wheel Parts while they were on sale, also on sale was a Mile Marker 12000 winch. The winch was 599. 00, tires were 684. 00 (6x114), and the shipping was free also no tax total order delivered to my door $1,283. 00. Now, locally the 4x4 shop wanted 799. 00 for the winch, and tires were 174. 00 ea or $1,044. 00 plus I had to pay a 45. 00 special order fee, and 66. 00 for tax, total order locally is $1,935. 94. Which means I saved $652. 94

These two orders saved me $1,647. 00! That was on two orders, Since planing my projects last fall, I have made 47 orders. Not all were for as much, but one was for just over 2700. 00. Point is you can make your money go much further then you think, bottom line is if you manage your funds wisely you will be able to do more for less. Also I know there are many out there that are frightened and uncertain about mail order or web ordering. I can understand your concerns, but I have never had a bad experience with any order I have placed. Like I said earlier, I have my CORE stores, these are the stores that have fair prices, good quantity, some are very popular (Jegs, Summit, 4 Wheel Parts, NTW, ) and all are very good places to deal from. These CORE stores are places I know I am going to get what I ordered, fast, in great shape, on time, have E-mail notification, issue tracking numbers, and will most of the time have a competitive price. So it there is nothing to be gained elsewhere, I will always support the CORE stores. Also, I will often call them up and ask if they can match a competitors price? They usually will, and I order it thru them. I have not totaled my savings for the year, but I suspect it will be over $6,000. 00, I will as soon as all my orders are in. I just wanted everyone to know, that with a little effort you can save money too. Good luck.

to summarize...

to summarize your post... I can say in just a few words...

there are deals out there to be had... you just have to know where and when...

and I will also add... internet deals are not always the best ones... I've had local deals meet or beat internet deals... just depends on how bad they want the sale... :D

Great deal... but one size too small for me... heck... I really want the 325/80-16's (37x13. 50's) but even at buy three get one free it is WAY too much money...

I just went to 4 Wheel Parts yesterday and bought a set of 285 A/T Pro Comps to be put on next Friday the 5th of March. My girlfriend knows the guys there from 4 wheeling and the guy scheduled me in the soonest he could. They are booked two weeks solid for the sale. I may be getting the 15% discount too. So, it should be around $550!

Nick

Patriot,

I ordered them from Summit too. They have been good to me.

$681. 76 to the door.

I hope they are a good tire! After I read how you liked them I was sold. :)

Any pics of your truck w/ the X-Terrains ?

Yes the 4 for 3 offer is a good one, and the same goes for the buy 3 Pro Comp tires get one free offer, but 4Wheel Parts has just made it better. They are having their anuall march madness sale, there are many sales to consided, and all 4 for 3 offers are still good, but whats the best is FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING. Last time they had their Free Shipping offer was Oct of 2003, I saved over three hunderd dollars in shipping cost, main items was 6 tires and 1 winch.

If you did tires or anything that would normally be to costly to ship, now is the time, and 4 Wheel Parts is the place.

last time I got buy 3 get 1 free with 4WP I had to argue with them about the free shipping... they said either I take the buy 3 deal or the free shipping deal... they may have since changed their policy.

I really don't want to give 4WP's my business because they raised their price per tire by a considerable amount as soon as the sale started. Summit and Truck Add-on's did not...

Probably will order from Summit because they have always treated me very good.

Jeff

P. S. Here you go Hemi here are a couple of pictures...

Here you go... 4WP's special deal... thanks guys  ... this is exactly what I mean

they just raised their price to $262. 47 per tire... gee thanks for the deal... they started out at $212

and the FREE freight... what a joke... you HAVE to buy the tire warranty to get it... oh wait... small print here... AND you are subject to a $29. 95 crating/palleting fee...

Is there any savings at all with 4WP's?:rolleyes:

I think 4WP's total out the door price was cheaper before the sale?:rolleyes:

Summit Racing $212. 95 a tire... no price change... no bait and switch... Truck Add On's is also matching Summits price...

:) :)

You are right Patriot. 4 Wheel Parts is a Joke. No offence to y-knot :)

I thought I read on the Net somewhere that the owner of 4WP also owns Explorer Pro Comp? Makes sence since they really seem to push Pro Comp stuff. If that's the case PRO COMP stuff should be alot cheaper.

Thanks for the picture of your truck. It looks real good!

Patriot,

I am really confused about something. I have never had a directional tire before. Is there a right way and a wrong way to mount them on the wheels?

PS : The White letters will go on the INSIDE (just like yours) where they belong. :D
