It looks like Scott has added up the cost of the aftermarket parts and added this to the selling price.

I wish it worked like that. #ad
IMO, Nobody is going to pay almost $47,000 for a '98.

It is a nice truck though. #ad

Scott was quite cold to me when I first approached him at Dieselfest a couple years ago.

He's not going to sell it at that price IMO.
Actually, I couldn't care less #ad

It's a... Ahem... 12-valve...

Sorry, not interested! :p

$47 grand for THAT? Man, seems a little high, when you consider what he paid for the accessories... #ad

So he added labor in too. #ad

I saw the asking price also thought was a little steep.
Plus he is getting Dodge/Cummins for company truck.
But it is nice truck and he did it right. #ad

He should sell wife's wheels and keep the truck.

The 98 that Piers drove was the fastest and most powerful 12v out there... and it sold for less than 25k. It was loaded with goodies too.

Yeah, but isn't that Canadian dollars? That would make it what... free, right? Actually, the currency converter at www.xe.com shows it would be 30,224 USD (assuming the 47K is CAD$) - still pretty steep in my opinion. I know they hold their value and there's lots of aftermarket goodies on it, for that coin, I can get a new ETH/DEE with 0 miles and bomb it myself as I go.

Good luck, though!

justbeamn,

It's advertised right on the front homepage of this TDR website. There is also an article in the newest TDR mag that lists all the mods.

Does that price include the WeinerMobile in tow behind the truck, in the photo?
Maybe it's $34,000 for the trailer, and $13,000 for the truck. Truck should be worth about $16,000, minus $3000 penalty for the Dr. P mysteriously-altered engine...

$46K ? No. $16K for a '98? With all the aftermarket stuff on the truck it is definitely worth more than $16K. Bet he finds a sucker somewhere... .

Brian

Man, you guys are brutal! That is one VERY sweet and unique Ram. Is it worth $46K? Maybe... to the right buyer.

I don't know about the rest of you but I really like the older Airstream trailers... the Avions that looked like them too. Heck, if I could afford it right now I'd ask Scott what he wanted for his Airstream... that bad boy is choice too.

... ... maybe only machinists and old guys (guilty x2) have an appreciation for high quality craftsmanship.

John,

It's not just old guys & machinists that appreciate quality craftsmanship. It's just that adding up the cost of all the aftermarket stuff and adding it to the value of the the base vehicle isn't realistic.
