Off Roading Anyone have some stock springs?

Competition Norcal Sled Pull : )

Prototype nearly done!

I used a Chalwyn valve, at about $250, it was the cheapest I could find, (by about $400) and very compact.

I had B&K Motorsports saw off the air intake, and weld the new billet piece to it. They did all the machine work.

I then ran a cable underneath the windshield wiper arms, out into the cup holder, (97) which is not a cupholder any more.

I'll post more pics when I finish the dashboard. A few things I would change, if I was doing it again, but the function is there. :)

Looks great Gene, Ron quoted me $399. 00 for the one I am using plus $15. 00 EA for the 3" adapters. Nice guy, I sent him some vids :D

Dang, you must have been lurking!!!

I checked my reciept, they were $15. 00 a piece!! I thought it was for the pair!

I guess they are making up the cost on the adapters, you will see what I mean! ;)

Gene bought Johnboy's truck, pulled out the Power Stroke, Pressure washed the engine capartment, and dropped in a Cummins. :-laf

Whose truck is that on Gene? I know its not yours, the engine compartment is way too clean.

You are right, that is Hammers truck.

Two classes in the DHRA puling series require air shut downs, but anyone with a Diesel, especially P-Pumped, would be well advised to have one.

The nice thing about this one, is you can still use an air cleaner. 100% streetable.

Has anyone else run an air kill at the intake horn like this?? Witch is the more "turbo friendly" air kill, inlet to the charger or pressure side?

Craig

It is safer to run a air shut off at the intake horn. If you run one at the inlet to the charger you run the risk of sucking oil past the oil seal in the turbo.

Does anyone have any links to any websites that sell guillotines(s/p) and the rest of the needed componets? I'm kind of lost on how to hook one up to operate from the sled and the cab and want to make sure i get it right. Pictures allways help too. Matt

Gene,

When I clicked on this thread originally I thought it was going to be a thread about your mouth.

I see its for your air intake now! :D

Craig,

I don't know which is more turbo friendly, but I would rather ruin a charger, than lose the engine, if the charger blew and was feeding the engine with oil.

The valve is designed for this(at stock levels, of course) but there is no guarantees.

The DHRA Street class does not require it.

The Detroits I have been around use a similar set up.
