Change of Responsibilities

Friend needs P7100 Rebuilt-where? (Denver area)

:D Mike

And now that I remember, I did see under your hood at the Big O wrench day but didnt pay much attention to your HX40 at the time.

I hope the snow isn't too bad tomorrow as I will be driving up from the Springs. Its a little slick here, hope it clears up for my drive tomorrow.

As some of you could tell, I did not make it there today.

I was planning on driving up from the Springs but the roads here are icy, and with the combo of that, no weight in the bed, and little tread left on the tires, I decided not to go. Call me a wuss!

Please let me know how everything went, also a number and address for RMS when someone gets a chance!

Thanks, Nick

Hey guys, hope the wrench day was fun and all!! I hear you guys got a little snow out that way. Its been raining cats and dogs lately out here in Kentucky. Dont have internet hooked up in my place til next Tuesday so i am stuck pyaing at a local coffee shop to get online.

This lift pump relocaation deal was really my gig and I dropped the ball, thats why the price got higher. With the move I had all my part numbers/invoices packed away in boxes and time was limited to say the least for me to get stuff done. I called RMS on the way out here from Colorado to order everything. I think there was a considerable UPS charge to get in 1 part that is not your everyday normal part (adapter for the VP, Fuel Filter housing, and lift pump). I think Matt said this charge was about $60 or so. I will pay that charge since it was my fault not getting this done as I said I would. That should bring the price of the kits back down to about what we had said they would be I think. Matt, I need your address again so I can send you a check for that. Hopefully those who wanted 1 of these can get it done and pay Matt quickly as he had to pay for all of them at RMS. If you all want photos I can get those to you 1 of 2 ways, if you have a cell phone that except photos I can send them to you that way or via email. Just tell me what photos you want.

Well have fun guys, sure wish I could've been there for this!!

PM Project

Man if you could email pictures that would be great. It looks as if I may be replacing a PV44 on Monday. If I get one that soon. Any narative beyond the pictures speaking a thousand word would be nice.

thanks.

Well, there was only 5 of us there, and my truck was the only one to get the LP move done. Earth Roamer was there and is evidently going to do a write up on it - he did take lots of pictures, some at a bad time to be popping a flash. He did not stick around until the finish, kind of took a while. Spent an hour fighting with a dead LP that I had sitting around, and I reversed the wires on the pigtail when I made the extension. After I pulled the new one from the engine bracket, we were done in 20 minutes. The move is REAL easy. If I had to go out and do it again right now, and I had all the parts, I could probably do it in an hour. I will do a write up on it tonight and post tomorrow sometime, kind of a step by step thing.

Results - Idle is 15. 75 psi and after two hard runs with the EZ on level 3, I could not pull the pressure below 12 psi. Pleas note that I still have the OEM line from the filter to the VP (we did not get any "T's" so I could plumb in my FP gauge. I am going to try to drill and tap the one 90* elbow in the entire system tomorrow. Otherwise I have 2. 5" of 3/8 hose from the pickup then 1/2" RED GARDEN HOSE :-laf from there to the fuel filter. The worst part is disconnecting the fuel line from the pick up at the top of the tank. Came off easy enough (I know how they work) just real uncomfortable trying to get to it.

Sorry I didn't make it. My 2wd truck don't go no where if there is snow around, so the wife said plan B which is what she wanted to do. Maybe next time. We NEED to do a DYNO DAY!!!

Hey guys, had fun today. As Jeff said, he will pay the extra shipping which was $60. That brings the cost down to $80. Those that were there today, let me know if you want them.

If anyone wants one, there are enough hose and fittings for 3 trucks that I NEED to get rid of. I'll give the guys that showed up today first shot, PM me if interested.

Matt

Well guys, I finally made it back to the Springs! Roads from Denver to Monument were basically dry. Things got continually worse from Monument to Colorado Springs though.

Good to meet Matt, Sticks, and Mile High Scott (the man with new brakes!).

I have to take some of the heat for the reversed pigtail polarity. Sticks informed me I was supposed to be supervising, and obviously I let him down.

Enjoyed the day! Look forward to seeing everyone again in February.

Larry

Sounds like you had a good day. Sometimes small groups are better anyway.

I wish I could have made it but 5 minutes after I turned around my g/f told me about a 20 or 30 car pile up on I-25 and Woodmen. Would have been more trouble than I wanted.

Matt, I really wish I could take one of those kits (that is if you don't get rid of them) but I start a new job on Monday and will be missing a paycheck so I gotta save the money, otherwise I would bid on one.

Thanks guys, can't wait for the pics.

:-laf :-laf :-laf I had a great time. First want to give a big thumbs up to Clint and his gang for being great hosts. The drive home was good until Ft. Collins, then it started to snow and blow heavy. Visiblity reached near zero for while   , but I made it home safe and sound. Matt I think I'm going to buy a kit from you, but I won't be able to pay you until next month. Would that be OK? See everybody in Feb.

Thanks to the ATS crew for letting us have a warm, dry* garage to work in. It was nice to not have to lay in what ever is on the driveway.

Thanks to all for the help with the brakes. Funny how fast that goes with 5 guys and a professional garage. :D I found seating in new brakes on an icy road to be a new and not so exciting challenge. I did find some dry road close to my house that worked.

Scott

Glad to hear the brakes are good, Scott. Has to be an improvement over metal on metal

They work VERY well. I cleared out my back seat today. Someone cut me off and when I hit the brakes, everything in the back came up front in a big hurry! :--)
