Has anyone installed the Projector Headlamps from Matrix/GR Motorsport?

These lights are for the Gen 3 Rams.

If yes; how are their lighting performance versus the stock headlights?

I think the yellow bulb goes in the hole where i drew the arrow on the bottom of the assembly and is reflected by the jewel design. Any other ideas? I think these are pretty cool, even if they are not HIDs. I would buy them... like the design!

Gocargo, thanks for the info on the power outputs, very informative as I thought they were closer in power---3000 volts is quite a bit!

Those things are junk ,they are not hid they use a H1 bulb in each the reflector in the outer is cheap deformed plastic. I bought them only to convert them to HID. HIDtech is a great place to have them done. Plan on about 800. 00-1000. 00 . Good luck

I just got these off ebay for 342 delivered. They look cool and they have the light rings like the Beemers. I have not put them on yet as I am waiting for my truck to get out of the repair shop first. But I have test fit one. On dim the inner lights illiminate and on high the other ones. Two big drawbacks that I immediatly noticed. The blinker is crap. looks good from the front but to the side doesn't reflect at all that I saw. No front accessable aiming. On the pass side it looks like there might be room to get there from the eng compartment but I really doubt it from the drivers side.

Ya same problem I saw too. ,I think the trick will be to hold the assembly in the mount and see what adj is necessary then pull out to adj back and fourth till you get it. I don't think you are going to be happy with the brightness.

HID is THE way to go, but as P-Bar notes, HID's are expensive. These lights are halogen and not HID's. But then again, the goal is to improve the light performance over the stock lights.

P-Bar; you claim that these parts are junk. Do you know this from personal experience as you have had them bolted up to your own truck and tested their light output versus stock? If so, what was their performance (light spread pattern and distance of low beam and high beam)?

P-Bar;

please clarify - you bought the projector lights from Matrix/GR Motorsport that I listed here and they were junk? In what way are the lights from Matrix/GR Motorsport junk? Poor build quality, poor adjustablity, poor/junk what?

Or did you purchase a different brand? If so, which ones and where did you get them from? I'd hate to repeat your mistake.

Actually 1 Tiawan Company makes them. The reflector on the inward light is of poor quality, my flashlight has a better reflectoron it, the light has equal or less brightness than our stock ones, the " projector" is a joke, you don't use a filament bulb in a projector housing that is reserved for metal halides. I ripped out the inner light and installing "real" metal halides , the outers will be for "Hollywood" only. The units themselves look great, the mechanics suck. The lights are the pic that JCastilleja put up on this thread
