I am in the process of deciding what I want to do to my new truck first as there are many things I would want to do, so I have been asking a lot of questions. My newest question is about propane injection or Nitrous. Has anyone here had any experience with one of these systems and if so what about the systems ( propane, nitrous and what manufacturer of the system) did you like best or least. Also would I be able to run these without upgrading clutch/transmission. I will probably do these first anyway but just for the sake of asking. Another thought, would I be able to compete in sled pulls running propane/nitrous?

Thanks, Ivan

Personally, I wouldn't use propane or nitrous, but if you do, I think you should o-ring the head first or plan on doing it when your head gasket blows it mind. :{

For you to use nitrous you need to be dumping in the fuel (smoke even at full boost), otherwise you won't be getting very much out of your nitrous. Propane is just like adding extra fuel, you will get some hp out of it because of the added fuel and the help of burn the rest of the diesel. Your EGTs will rise with propane though. Nitrous usually lowers the EGTs because all you are doing is adding more volitial air (higher oxygen content). With a diesel, if you add to much nitous it will just kill the motor, with a gasser the motor will be toast. I'm not quite sure on makes and things like that though.

I was asking the same questions a few years ago. The Powershot 2000 seemed to be the best and safest as I recall.

The reason I didnt go propane was that The cost is high to go with a chassis mounted tank. and the same money spent on conventional diesel performance parts would go a long way. As a matter of fact I got the same or more power gains all on #2 for the money. Bill

I personaly think that propane is not needed with a 12V you can get plenty of fuel out of your pump and at alot cheeper than propane. Just my 2pennys, but I say do whatever makes you happy.

I run powershot propane on my psd have for years and am really impressed with the system. So impressed i even seel them myself. If you have any?'s feel free to pm me. travis
