Now that a group purchase price has become available, what are the pros and cons of different systems(ATS,Bullydog, etc. )? I understand the concept and advantages of propane, but what makes one brand better than the next? Inquiring minds want to know.

Come on guys. Some of you out there have a propane setup on your truck already. All I want is input as to why one is better than another. Is the Bullydog good or bad?Is ATS better?

Blackcloud,
I'll be installing a Bully propane kit (Thanks Carl!) tomorrow or Friday. I'll post back and let you know how it goes.

Blackcloud,

I made my own propane system out of the same components that Bullydog and ATS use. Impco is the brand name of the vaporizer/regulator and I used a model "j". The pressure switch is a standard issue Hobbs adjustable from 3-15 PSI for the boost pick up signal. The 12V on/off solenoid is wired to the the Hobbs switch and is aslo tied into a toggle switch on my dash. I used Parker LPG rated -6 hose to feed the liquid propane to the vaporizer and mounted the 14 gallon forklift tank in my bed with horizontal forklift brackets.

All said and done I have about $ 350. 00 invested in a system that is a duplicate of store bought units that sell for $650-$950 that do not include the tank or the mounts and the quick coupler.
