:) Can anyone give me the sizes in pounds of two propane tanks that I have. The data plate is messed up and can`t be read . The dim. `s are (1) 48" long x12" in dia. (2)40" long x 16" in dia. These tanks mount horozontally and would make a killer supply for a propane system. I have been told that most motor home tanks are either 30 or 40 pound. Any help would be greatly apprecaited . I have the KDP jig if anyone is intereseted?

I think they are both 40 gallon tanks. Should be markings stamped near the filler that will give info in lbs. and then figure 80% of that number. Be sure to check to make sure the certification date is current, of you won't be able to get them filled. Vertical tanks are required to have over fill protection valves later this year, but horizontal tanks are exempt at this time, but there is some confusion at the dealer level about this.

Tank fill problems solved

After buying a fish cooker I tried to have my old tank filled. After going to 2 refill stations no luck. First on said "Its rusty"second one said"Its too old"1985 model. Went to the grocery store that does the cylinder swap. They were real busy and for $16 I now have a new full propane cylinder. Manager did not have time to inspect the old cylinder.

I know,I know, I must get down on one knee and ask for forgiveness. But I could not see paying $28 for an empty cylinder at wal-mart.

Y'all don't do this, cause it just ain't fair. Shame on me.
