Ted, do you have some web sites for these products that you have mentioned,

Hello to all,
I had posted a similar thread months ago and thought I would post it again since there are so many new members, and this is a frequently asked question.

1) Guages, boost Pyrometer, optional transmission temp.
2) K&N air filter in the stock air box or a scotty air system.
3) 4" exhaust turbo to tail pipe, preferably mandrel bent aluminized.
4) Then some sort of fuel enhancements, i. e. Van AAken CPC or larger injectors, but not both at the same time until upgrades to the torque converter and valve body on Auto's, or a clutch on a manual
5) High quality low stall converter, preferably 1600 rpm, and a valve body modifications to recalibrate to handle the extra power.
I prefer the Centerforce dual friction clutch on the manuals.
6) Depending on what you choose on #4 finish the job with injectors or Box.
7) 1/2 inch fuel system to feed that hungry powerhouse, and keep that injection pump cool and lubricated.
8) US Gear 20% Overdrive auxillary transmission so you can use all that new found power.
How's 1800 rpms at 75 mph sound?
9) A BD turbo mount exhaust brake to slow her down.

This information is based on my 19 years expierence modifying vehicles to fit the needs of individuals, buying parts that don't fit and making them work better than they where designed too, finding ways to put 850 hp to the ground with a 10 inch tire, soon to be 1100 hp 360 cubic inch small block chevy.
Leaving the starting line with the front wheels three feet in the air for the first 70 feet is a rush like you wouldn't beleive.

I love what I do! only second to my wife and kids.

I hope this helps

Back to the top, we need to keep this post on the first page as it should be required reading for all new "bombers".

To The Top?

This list should be in FAQ, item 1!

Or under a big bold heading on the main page.

This kind of information is why many of us subscribe to TDR. :D

I'm quite happy with the factory sound system option I have. It's made by Cummins! :p

Tried the reverse thrusters, they worked great, however, when I hooked up my travel trailer, well the burn marks the first time wern't so bad, but the steel frame is starting to rust where the plastic skin is gone, and last week my blankets got wet!!

My bombing order went,

Trans- TC/VB

Power edge ez

Guages

DD2's

Power edge hot

Piers Turbo

The truck ran 14. 66@91. 87

2500 4x4 x-cab

This mods are more than I would recommend, as reliability goes down.

order

i do remember reading this before... ... . i assume that ted still believes this is the proper order, although the thread was started nearly 2 years ago. this answers the proper order question, but not which fuel enhancing box???, unless i missed a comparison somewhere in the thread??

I still follow this recipe, with the exception of adding a pusher pump at the tank.

I edited the original post accordingly.

Obviously we can go way beyond this power level but it would not be practical for the majority.

I Still do not believe it is necessary to touch the stock turbo up to this power level, with the exception of the 2001-02 auto equipped trucks that came with the baby HY turbo.

On those we install the HX3512cm2 like all previous built trucks.

BOMBs

ted:

thanx for coming back in. i have already put an aftermarket low pressure (7-9psi, 70 gph) pusher pump and filter back at the tank. i mounted it in series with the oem. works great so far--4K miles. if i put on a box with boost control, will partially disabling the waste gate, ie to let more pressure build, do you still recommend upgrading the little hy? i thought it spooled up faster than a bigger turbo, hence better low end torque/response? i certainly would like to feed more air, but don't want a big lag, like i've had in some gassers with turbos??

get rid of that HY...

I have one to and it is great for a stock truck but no what I want to do with it (425+ horses). When you start modifiing your truck, the EGT's get too high with the 9cm houseing the HY comes with. Move up to the HX with a 12cm that some one is selling in the classifieds and you will not be sorry.

What I want to know about is step 9...

8) 7psi 100 gal. hr. pusher pump at tank.

9) 15 psi 100 gal. hr. lift pump on engine.

I know about step 8, but do you mean to just get a new replacement like the one already there?

What I want is a modified VP. I know it's not a big gain, but it's still something.

Redneckdr, You have to be careful when choosing a pusher pump, you need volume, 100 gal. hr. but low pressure 7psi.

If you don't have enough volume you still can run in to a starvation problem.

Txdieselkid, On high HP trucks we replace the one on the engine with 15psi 100 gal. hr.

The factory one is 12-13 psi and only 70 gal. hr.

Hey Ted, how do I go about getting the 15psi/100gph pump that you mount at the engine for high horse combos? Is it one of your special upgrades or a part available from Cummins? Either way I would like to get my hands on one as my stocker has 25k on it now with 5psi at WOT.

Ted -

What pump to you reccomend to for the guys like myself who have moved there stock pump back by the tank. I guess my question is to you have a reccomendation for a one pump set up?
