Truck stalling

I have ordered a truck with cloth interior, and was wondering what the best thing to do to protect it is. I've already got the husky liners headed my way, and was thinking of rolling down to the old wal-mart for 2-3 of cans of scotch guard, and just cover the entire cloth interior with it.
Also, what about the dash and such (re: protection), AND
how long before I can do a wax or polish job on my new baby?

I would highly recommend the scotch guard as soon as you can. It'll really help your cloth interior last a long time. As for the dash & plastic components, stay away from Armour All & other treatments that contain silcon. The silcon will actually dry out your plastic quicker. I use Meguiar's vinyl cleaner for tough clean up jobs, and Meguiar's Intense Protectent for quick hits. Does a great job cleaning the dash.
Finally, you can wax right away. You won't need a polish for quite a while, unless you notice a lot of defects in the factory paint. Just put the wax on to protect and have fun driving it. Enjoy.

Can you still get scotch guard? I was told a few years back that it was being taken off the market because of EPA health concerns. It may have just been reformulated.

Randy,

What am I missing here? The last time I bought a vehicle, the dealer told me to wait six months before waxing to give the finish time to cure? Is this different for Dodge?

mwheaton- One month will be more than enough for the paint to cure completley.

UK, I put the sheepskins on my seats and love them. They protect the seats and feel real good on a cold morning. I use MacGuires (spelling?)on the paint for the clearcoat. No swirls and I think their reputation for protection and look is tops.

"303 Protectant" is the only thing that I use on dash and cover. It won't dry out your dash like ArmorAll, etc. and it is the only thing that quite a few manufacturers of Tonneau covers will recommend for treating their brand covers.

The guy that recovered my '57 Fury seats recommended Scotch Gaurd on the cloth and he told me to wipe the vinyl off with a paint prep to clean them and spray Lemon Pledge on it to protect them. He does some high price show cars.

Good Deal, Thank you guys.
illflem: I'm not sure about WA, but you can still get some scotchguard down here, but it is becoming scarce - you can't find much at all, and it's pretty expensive +$5. 00 per can. I was wondering why, I guess you answered my ? on that.

The factory bakes the paint at about 365 degrees. Once the truck leaves the factory, the paint is about as cured as it's going to get. Sikkens (paint) even told us at a class last year that you could wax just after leaving the body shop even though they can't bake as hot, so the paint wouldn't be as cured. I think I would wait about 60 days after any bodywork anyway.
