Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) PS 62 Failure????

Has anybody had one of these turbos fail? I had my intake off this morning and there is side to side play. How much is too much? It was put on in May @110,000 now at 116,000. If it is bad can it be upgraded to a super phat shaft? Is it worth it to upgrade to a SPS62. Thanks for all the help in advance.

Sid to side is Ok, as long as it isnt touching. Now in and out is not good. Mine does the same thing and many other people say the same. II and HTT set their turbos up loose.

As long as the wheels don't touch the housing, you are OK. It is oil clearance. When there is oil present, it won't move side to side.
