I am getting ready to buy this kit. :D How does it connect to the engine and were are you guys mounting the controller box?

Barry

It plugs in between the APPS (throttle position sensor in real world terms) and the engine wiring harness. Slick piece and real easy to install-think it took me about 45 minutes to put mine on!

My controller is down on the left side of the knee bolster just above the emergency brake release. Works good for me-reach down, turn the high-idle off, and release the brake... . and away I go!

Gordon is a great guy who makes great products-you won't regret buying anything from him!

Barryg41,

I have the earlier version of PS High Idler (nonadjustable) and I can say, The High Idler came with excellent instructions, OEM connectors, nice switch, and a very well made wiring harness.

It connects to the APPS main harness and istallation was a short 30 minutes.

I can't help with location of the box for the new style, but I am sure you will get information shortly:D

You can't go wrong with any PS product:D  :D

The above info is all correct. Let me add this... ... if you put the control box on the left knee bolster just above the brake release you can accidentally hit it with your knee getting out or in the truck. The truck runs but feels like you threw the anchor out when going down the road. I did this several times and now immediately know what is wrong.

Otherwise it is a great set up and works well.

Where to find info on the net???

I tried doing a search on google for "PS High Idler Kit", but came up with nothing, can someone please point me in the correct direction? Thanks

Here is a link to the PS web site. It has all there products.

I installed my new style adjustable controler in my ash tray. You have to drill a hole in the bottom of the tray and squeez the wireharness through the hole but it works good and you don't have to worry about hitting it with your knee.

Hey Guys..... thanks for the info and advice on where to mount the controller!

Jack in Alaska: You said you dont recommend mounting it above the emer brake release. I got in and out of my truck a few times to see how close it came to my knee and my knee was about 4 inches from the knee bolster. How thick or wide is the controller? JR2, I like the ash tray location but now I will have to find another place to put my cell phone. Ahhhhh another bomb job. :D :D

Oh yeah, one more question, Does the PSHI override the go peddle if it is activated?

Ok I'm done with the questions... :D

Jack in Alaska is my dad so I will tell you that both he and I are big guys. Our knees get close to the bolster.

I have a solution for the cell phone in the ash tray too... . mount the idler upside down (on the roof of the ash tray). You cell phone should still fit in there. I am going to do that to mine as soon as I can find some more velcrow that the cold does not effect so much.

GREAT idea on how to mount the PSHI upside down and still let the phone sit on the bottom. I dont think I will have cold problems either... . :D

I did it!!! I ordered it. It will be here sometime on thursday or friday.

I like the way they do business.

You order and they send.

You get it and you send them a check.

Forget the Vi$a card. Gotta luv it!!!:D :D
