What is a 10k & 18k MOD ?????

Last week I stacked a PSD and this week Im starting to MOD a 97 PSD for a pal

First thing first he's getting gauges

I tried to plug the WG for him but it dont have one !!!?? strange but true

Do you guys know anything about a '97 PSD that may help us

thanks

DM

They come in F*rds..... does that help? :D

The 10K mod increases your oil pressure that is used to power the injectors.

I believe the 18k mod is the same principle as the 10k mod.

Basically the same as the SP Diesel Stage One. Cool stuff when you think about it. All the little mods for the PSD. :)

:-laf:-laf:-laf No problem DM, anytime!! Just happy I could help! :)

I'm interested in all of the auto and farm diesel stuff, except for those darn GM's. I do think it is neat with all of the little mods that a guy can do to the PSD's to tweak more out of them, without buying some aftermarket product. The more controls, the better! ;)

DiD the 10k mod on a '97 and a '02 today ..... WOW alot more power and throtle response there very happy but they still know they cant touch my CTD ... hehehehehe

DM

Well good news and bad news

GOOD - Just 10k'd a "99 PSD with a tuner WOW really came alive

BAD - the '97 just blew through its Torque Converter ... . DEAD ON THE ROAD... LIMPING HOME ... it must of just barly been holding on @ 275,ooo miles

THATS A CHANCE YOU TAKE

if you wanna play you gotta pay

:>

DM

Dam ! 275,000 thats pretty good my 94 Broncos trany had to be rebuilt at 125,000 . Is it an E4OD ? i think that Brians Truck Shop is big on building up the ford trannys. The thing that i could,nt beleive when i was looking under the hood of a older body stile PSD was the exaust. It comes out of the turbo and they have that flat pipe that goes behind the engine i believe they call it a Cobra head . What a werd desigh .

I'm with ya

THe turbo is placed so closely to the fire wall they couldnt use a round pipe to go down to the exaught ... its round comming out of the turbo for about 3inches then its smashed to about 1inch thick and ran past the firewall and down to the pipe how retarded is that .

To install a real down pipe the owners have to cut a chunk out of the fire wall .

what was Ford thinking !?!?!?!?

the motor is cramed big time After working on PSD for a few days when I poped my hood I sighed with releif.

Those poor ford lovers . . will they ever learn.

Ive been a dieselstop regular ... ... ... not making to many friends It seems that our motors are too hard to work on ?????? Not enough space under the hood ???? I cant beleave it . Holding tounge about long enough ... ... . but being good while doing some under cover work :>

There are some CTD owners there they try to hold there own but get overwhelmed by a swarm of ( ) ****insert word here****

See I said I was being Good

LOL

I wouldn't mind toying with one, but I too would dread working under the hood. Trucks sit high enough that they are tough to work on, let alone getting to the back of that engine compartment, or just staying up there long enough to find what you're looking for.

how long did it take to do the 10k?? i might be helping my cousin do it to his 99 6spd stroker, and was wondering what i was getting into??? any hints or suggestions??

matt

IT takes longer to build the mod then it does to put it in .

The resistors come in 5 packs so you can mess up the first couple if you want ... :>

TO BUILD

I used Telephone wire about 8 inches it had 4 wires I pulled two wires out AnD TRASHED then shaved about 4 inches on either side of the main insulation then shave each wire about 3 inches and on one end bend little hooks in the wires (goes in to wiring harness) on the other end bend one wire down... ... ... on the strait wire sodder one end of the resistor if you followed my instructions when you bend the resistor to where its strait with the telephone wire section the other wire for the resistor in the telephone section will line up perfect on the resistor now soilder that end and tape the hole thing just leave the opisite end that goes on the ICP untaped .

TO INSTALL

Make sure you put the mod wires inside the female prongs of the wireing harness and not along side of them .

Remove the rubber gasket from the wiring harness and hold up the female end place the mod wires in the right eye and mouth and then slide the rubber over the wires/harness then plug it in. check for CHECKENGINELIGHT before fireing it up if it comes on just unplug the ICP and inspect wires then repeat you'll get it ... ... .

all 3 of mine worked on the first try I may of been lucky Ive heard of people having to try a few times.

IF you can make anything out of that you'll be good  :-laf

Im going to bed now

Good Night TDR

DM
