Just put my new air filter on and am very pleased with the product. The exhaust temps are noticeably lower when I am "on it". Before I had to lift at approx 2600 rpm because temps were going 1500+. Now I can get there at about 1200. Will be towing my 13. 5K pound fifth wheel this weekend to Reno over Donner summit so will know for sure how good it helps the exhaust temps. Also picked up 2 pounds of boost pressure with the new filter. My stock clean filter was being dragged down to over 65% on the meter minder.

65% gee that "sux", but those days're gone now! #ad
---you'll like the PSA---at the risk of being flamed, less than 10% of Scott1's business came from the TDR, but more than 90% of any complaints came from here. that's why he no longer posts here. #ad

My son gave me a Psychotty Air Filter
for Christmas. I have a question about
installing it that I hope you can help
me with. Which end does the rubber seal
or "gasket" go on? Thanks for your help.

Sorry to hear that he got run off. I seriously hope that he considers returning to the TDR. Seems to me that we can use enterprising people on this forum to help out with our trucks.

The rubber gasket goes into the firewall which is on the small end of the housing.

Don't know why anyone would complain about the PSA. It certainly does what it is supposed to do. I'm real happy with mine. And noise complaints? Anyone who is concerned about noise should not buy a Cummins diesel... . I heard the Duramax is real quiet and so are gas engines.

rich, you sure it's not Scott's new wife keeping him away?I'm with Koa man, sound would be the only issue, you get used to it. Never really seen many compliants here about the PSA. It's one of the best things I've added to my truck,I would recomend it to anyone who needs lower EGTs and higher airflow.

wasn't so much "I hate PSA" as "K+N allows dirt-damyou,Scott and your invention"---the last verdict I think i saw concerning air cleanliness was "don't over-oil, but some environmental grit sizes may actually slip thru the fibres" apparently eastern washington (desert?) has some very fine particles, and, obviously, that's Scotty's fault #ad
He must have felt like too much of that hostility was pointed at him, rather than past him. #ad
I, for one like my PSA, and, though I don't tow nearly as much as I had intended on truck purchase day, I do like the faster pre-parking cooldown.

rich,I think Scott may have taken it the wrong way. It seems to me that most of the complaints were about the airbox K&N not the 0880. IMO most of those problems stemmed from improper installation and over oiling, defiantly not Scott's fault. I've been running my K&Ns for several years in the fine dust and volcano ash of E. WA,no problem with dust getting thru or oily turbo blades. Ask Scott to come back,I liked his jokes and stories a lot and miss them.

The last I heard from Scott is that he was think about rejoining TDR. Hopefully he will!!!! I am thankful every day for my PSA. IT WORKS #ad

How can I order a PSA? Is there a link to see what all is involved for installation?

Thanks

sometimes he "lurks" in the cybershadows, but mostly he goes to the dieselpage (gm 6. 2/6. 5) and annoys them with George Foreman grill stories--loads of laughs!

I miss Scott's postings too and we occaisionally talk by email. Scott if you are reading this, get back on the TDR. We would like to know what other goodies you are working on (like your propane system)

Update on Psycotty air filter- I got back from Reno yesterday in one piece after the party. The new air filter DOES cool down the exhaust temps considerably. Before I could only use get the boost guage up to 26 psi continuously before the exhaust temps would reach 1200 degrees on the hills pulling my trailer. I can now get the boost up to 30 psi continuous before I reach 1200. This gives me much more power on the hills. The wife does not mind the extra cab noise either. It only starts making extra noise when it is pulling lots of air anyway and I like the sound of it. The engine will produce 42 pounds of boost with this set up and I do have my plate pushed back . 050" from stock to help exhaust temps. I wonder what I can get with the plate pushed forward? Guess I'll have to try it one of these days...
