I have seen the air system with the large conical filter in place of the filter box and had a similar setup on my Transam but what I really question is weather it would help on a car with a turbo especially since it would be sucking in hotter engine compartment air.

First, there are two different animals out there... Scotty air is just the filter (re-0880) This does suck air from the engine bay, but the amount of air available will reduce egt by about 100 deg, and give some better throttle response.

Psychotty Air is a plastic ram air unit that draws air from the base of the windshield. This setup reduces EGT by about 300 deg on a B ombeD truck.
Check out Scott's webpage for more info.

It is definitely worth doing!

Alaska Bee is the TDR member that has offered other TDR members the use of his 4-1/2" hole saw to install the Psychotty Air System. This makes it possible to install the system without having to purchase a $50. 00 tool that will be used just once. Thanks, AB, for being a class act.

Mine has the Psychotty Air system and also I could not stand the urge to remove the silencer ring,,so I did. What a wonderful sound that it makes. #ad

HEMI D:
Saw went to Bill Fleming a couple of days ago. E-mail him at www.billfleming1@excite.com. Saw's been used only 3 times and is REAL sharp. It'll cut the hole in no more than 30 seconds. All of this due to the kindness of Alaska Bee. Anyone needing the saw should e-mail Hemi Dart

EZ,

I sent Bill my address. He`s sending the hole saw monday.

Thank you SO MUCH ALASKA BEE!!!!

A Starrett 4 1/2" hole saw is 40 BUCKS!, not counting the arbor and pilot bit.

My buddy says a Plasma Cutter would cut a beatiful round hole, but they are very expensive.

Wade, Guido is down there looking for you right now.
LOL
He is driving the four door Lincoln with tinted windows. Very low key.

I got a question for folks in regards to the hole saw. Would you pay more for the system if I included the hole saw? It weighs a lot and the shipping would go up too.
I've seen them around 45. 00 Canadian.
Maybe I should drop paying the shipping, add that into the holesaw and adjust the price accordingly? I would have to see how much it would cost via UPS to ship it like that.

Feedback?
Maybe Wade can get us a deal on hole saws with his business?

EH?

I Just finished installing my Psychotty today. If someone would like to use the hole saw drop me an e-mail. Otherwise it's going into mothball in the deepest darkest reaches of my toolbox. #ad

Scott,

The question on the hole saw included. I`d say no. If worst came to worst, the hole saw could be rented from a rental outlet about 8 buck 1/2 day , or go to a car stereo shop. They probably would cut a hole for a $10 spot.

This %$#* site is going to cost me some serious bucks! I'm going to order the system this week. I love the sound it makes on EZ94's ride-kind of like a big rig/DC10 blend. Oooboy, here we go!

Scott,
I can have the guy in purchasing check next week. We can see what we can buy in quantity.

I have always lived by the rule that any tool is a good tool and somethiong will require it somewhere down the line. I would be willing to pay for it.

Please describe the extra noise/sounds/music that this new intake system adds.

I've been seriously considering the psycotty air intake system.

My truck is already noisier than every other Dodge I meet on the road - it's still pure stock.

I just got back fro my first tow this the Psycotty system. I love the power, the noise is alittle much so at the first rest stop I put back in my silencer plate and then no problems. My milage is up almost 1 mile to the gallon to 14. 8 MPG. The EGTs can be pushed to the max very easy, but where never a problem unless a P*w*r Joke was around. My last tow last year was with the #12 Plate and a stock housing w/K&N filter holy housing.

The differance from last year is night and day and the turbo seems to cool down faster once we stopped.

I do have a problem that will probibly back my plate off again, it is traction I stopped twice and each time put more weight on the truck unloading my equalizer. Now it is just a sway control for there is just bearly any weight be transfered to the front of the truck. This one trip and I'm about out of tires.

I paid $50 for my hole saw and arbor. I will send it to the first person who asks for it. All I ask is that you send it to someone else when you are done. If you are in the Montana area and would like to use it, email me and I will meet you halfway.

Jack

My truck sounds soooo cool now that I turn my radio down all the time, so I can hear my truck!!!

Ron,

I good way to quiet down the Pschotty air system is to seal the big end of the cone to the intake hose. This can be done with black cloth tape. You need to file down those "tabs"? at the big end about an inch back. I did mine this morning. I didn`t want any hot engine compartment air getting sucked in from the big end. Not really sure if any was to begin with. REALLY quiets it down though.

I also noticed the K&N pre-fliter "sock" makes more of a hissing noise on acceleration than without it. I took mine off. Almost like the incoming air is making noise when its sucked thru the ultra fine mesh of the sock.
