Diesel Guys: I'm planning a lube change for the '96 NV4500, but would like to remove the PTO cover this time to check internals closer. Is there a gasket on the cover, or should I expect to use a silicone RV sealant? Thanks.

What they said. I bought the transmission filter kit from Geno's for my NV5600, and it came with a cork gasket. It leaked... ... . So, when I installed my Fastcoolers, I went black RTV all around - no leaks!

Good old Permatex #2 for the cork gasket and it won't leak, else like what was said, RTV.
