I know, I know... Super cheeseball title, but... :-laf

1- My question has to do with turbo lag. I know there are threads about this, but i have a new question. First let me state that I have removed the silencer ring, and the baffle, and added an Airaid drop-in filter. Other than that, the truck is stock. When I back out of my garage, in the a. m. , other than the throttle in reverse to get moving, the first forward throttle is to pull up hill in order to turn around to hook up to the trailer. Haven't noticed if it has to do with temperature or not, but the turbo lag is approx. 2-3 seconds, before the truck gets going. Is this normal??

2-On one of my jobs, I have to park uphill, with the trailer hooked up(apprx. 6000lbs). When pulling away from the curb, the lag can also be 2-3 seconds before I get going(any temp).

Anyone have any suggestions as to what this is, or is this normal?

ThaNKS in advance for any thoughts.

I think part of it is the stock auto. I recently drove an '06 auto and after owning a DTT auto which comes on instantly, the stock torque converter demands higher rpm in order to get motivated. An '06 Smarty set on 30hp should wake it up. They are being released as we speak. Call Bob Wagner. If that doesn't do it,call Fred Swanson a DTT authorized installer.

I would add that it is probably not turbo lag as much as torque converter lag in the mornings I pull my 28 ft trailer and backhoe I can't get into second gear until I crest the hill in front of the house in lo 4 it will go into 4th with the converter locked under the same conditions. I do not know about the Smarty box but the edge box did make a huge difference all the way around. Hope this answers your questions.

It is all about the software... ... . if you watch a scanner with the stock software the timing is retarded. Plug in the smarty software and voila... ... ... what you thought was turbo lag is gone. The stock turbo is small lag is not the issue.
