Competition Calling all drag racers!

I don't think I would want to drive his truck because mine would seem like a complete turd compared to his, or anything anywhere close to his.

What has he done to your truck?(BOMBs and destruction)

JW,hook up to that Dmax,he dont stand a chance,so long as your both similar configurations. Darrell B hit it right on the head. i pulled a 2001 Dmax,on thanksgiving day,he's a friend of mine,he was talking sh*t about how bad his truck was,so I said lets hook them up,out came the chain. We both have 2500 short box 4x4,quad cabs, same configuration,we both have auto's,Both have BFG 285/75/r16 AT tires, his were brand new, mine almost worn to 1/4 tread. ,we both have the optional locking diff/limited slip. he has the allsion ,and used 4lo,I used 4 lo too,and have the DTT 89% in my truck. My truck totally empty, his about 200 lbs in a bed mounted toolbox. I pull often, and im very good at keeping traction, which is 1/2 the battle. Well were in his driveway, which is 1/2 blacktop,1/2 pea gravel we started on black top. I let him start to pull tight ,with the T case in 4lo,i held the brakes, and felt him tugging, just as he really started pulling, i brought the revs up a little, and eased off the brake, then gently gave a little more power, and then the Dmax spun first, like the others said,it was over, once he spun,i rolled the power on,i drug that truck backwards like a toy,he even tried letting off, while holding the brakes,I stopped and let him try again, same thing, this time(knowing how easy he was to pull) i ripped him backwards,I pulled him so far,my truck went onto the pea gravel, his on blacktop still, and i continued to drag him, even with all 4 of my tires on pea gravel, all 4 of his on blacktop,my truck would dig down 2 inches or so,then move forward a foot or so,then spin again, and repeat. My whole family was there, eveyone had a lot more repsect for my truck after that,no one has wanted to hook up to me since. My friend with the Dmax, wont even think about racing me,with his Dmax, since I bombed the Cummins. I really expected the Dmax to give me more of a fight than it did,In all seriousness that truck didnt even make my dodge work,I never spun a tire more than like 50 rpm's,only after i had all 4 on pea gravel. I was truely dissapointed in the Dmax. I tried to make our pull as even as possible,we even rasied his pinlte hook in his reciever,so my truck wasnt pulling the back of his up,or vice versa,it was a level pull, rope level, nothing i could think of gave either one of us an advantage. Mcummings, you'll never break your hitch with a 2wd,your truck should be able to pull about the same as a compact 4wd,like an S10 4x4,dont ask me how i know,LOL(a 95 s10 blazer 4x4, witha powertrax can pull a 3500 2wd Cummins,BTW),but its close. . so long as your truck is empty,if you put weight in the back, you'll rip it around. As for breaking parts,an abusive driver can break almost anything,if i was to mash the throttle,or wheel hop, then i deserve whatever happens, however if gentle pulling breaks my truck, then let it break then, instead of when im plowing snow at 4 am,on a sunday, and cant get parts for a day. Knock on wood,I go to the truck pulls every year,Ive pulled many time,,and I'll hook chains evry chance i get,Ive never broken anything(yet),except my pride,LOL.

Actually, it might have been Adam, My6eatsv8's, that you're thinking of that broke a hitch, while pulling a sled. Pictures of it in a past issue of TDR magazine.

I remember Dave breaking one, but can't remember when it was... .

You could be right Briar. I only have 2 issues, including this quarter's, and it's not in my old one. Don't remember where I saw it, or who it was. Heck, I don't remember my age half the time.
