Competition Pull @ US-131 Motorsports park this year? - Eric?

Heard that there is a possibility of a pull @ US-131 Motorsports park this spring along with the dyno and racing. Heard it was contingent on DHRA's coming up and checking out the "pulling area" at the track. Anyone know anything about this? Anyone interested?

So would the pull be on Friday, Saturaday or Sunday? What Sled?

Should be Saturday I think (I know that's when the race is at the track), but I guess it could be Sunday also - they run Sunday events quite often @ 131.

Saturday, and we'll use the Lowry Bros. sled.

No pull, was going to cost us over $20,000 to put it on-mostly in building a pulling track. So we'll still have the quickest diesel trucks on the planet racing there.

That sucks - I know it's probably too late now, but would it help if we could line up a dozer and/or loader and/or dumptruck? Maybe even next year?



A dozer is easy, a loader maybe, and the dump truck a little harder...

That would definitely help, the biggest thing was that US 131 wanted us to construct a pulling track for them-the concrete walls were alot of money not to mention moving clay into position and then taking it back out. That alone was $12,000 of the whole project.

That doesn't sound fair to me either. I can understand why you pulled out. They are missing out... I kinda thought they were thinking about adding a track anyways - I'm surprised they asked you to take it out...



There's always the Kalamazoo Fair grounds, which is about 15-20 minutes south of US 131 about a mile north of I-94, about 4 miles west of the US131/I-94 junction. They have grandstands in place and have truck pulls there anyway. I would expect minimal track building if any at all.



The pulls on Saturday, drags on Sunday has -ahem- been done before - and Kalamazoo has ample hotel space, while Martin does not...
