That I lost the exhaust valve in the #4. The good news is I didn't do any damage to the cylinder wall. Need new piston and I need the head machined. I am looking for anyone in Texas, or near by who does good machine work on the cummins heads. I will probably go ahead and have the head ported and polished and ready to bolt up a set of twins. Anything else I should know/do please tell me before I get it all back together.

You might try Southwest International Trucks Inc. (972 569-8181) 2105 N. Central Expwy. McKinney Tx. They could probably give you reference to having the head machined. They are Cummins authorized, and where I buy my fuel, oil, air filters (Fleetguard).

Hope this helps

so if it was a dropped valve, how is the dealer handling it? Certainly they can't think it was something you did.

I live over in Emory and my brother and I are having our heads remachined at Blains motor supply in Dallas. I just took a 24 valve in the shop with them. They can check for cracks, repair seals, repair cracks if not to bad. We are having them o-ringed by SM Diesel; over by Greenville. Pm me if you would need info. 903-268-8279
