Pulled over by police!

I recently got pulled over for "Marked lanes" which ment i was trying to keep the 93 between the white and yellow I do have a borgesen steering shaft, new tie rod ends, and the box is tightened up a bit. I see no play anywhere else but it still likes to wonder around. Do any of you guys run steering stabalizers, im thinking about getting one, whatcha think?

I would take a good look at the front springs. If the springs are letting the axle move at all it will create a bad wonder (I have seen this more then once on leaf springed front axles). Most of the time it is either the bushings in the spring ends or the U bolts holding the springs to the axle have become worn or loose.

I know this is sort of a hijack, but it reminds me of a story (one of the benefits of gettng older, i. e. everything reminds you of a story). Or a Pa lecture as my kids use to call them :-laf . One of my daughters gave me a button for Father's Day that said "The only difference between this button and my Dad's lectures is this button has a point. Opps, looks like I'm off on a hijack while on a hijack, or of a double hijack.



Anyway, one night during the winter one of the guys who works here was on his way back from the big city - Jackson's Hole. More affectionately know as West Yellowstone's Twisted Sister. One of the Park Nazis pulled him over for driving in the middle of the road. His response was "Well, where do you drive in the middle of the winter? There is no traffic to speak off, I could see their headlights coming if there was, it keeps me out of the ditch if it's slick, and I have a better opportunity to avoid critters in the road. "



Oh, the Park Ranger let him go. Sometimes common sense trumps even Johnny Law.

Since crossing the lane lines is one of the best indicators of potential DUI, especially in a rural setting, the ranger is pretty much obligated to make the stop. A quick check and a verbal conversation is normally all it takes. If he failed to stop you and down the road you killed somebody, or injured yourself, he gets to live with that for the rest of his life. I have made thousands of such stops and the only ones that get cited are the DUI drivers. Just the way thing look for "Johnny Law" Glen

You might want to check the toe in, and the wheel bearings to make sure they aren't a little loose.

Ditto to the wheel bearing check. I had a nut get really loose on me once on a Dana 60 and I couldn't figure it out until it got REALLY squirrely. It got so loose that the snap ring on the axle popped off. Now I always do my own front brakes... .
