Yes I have read all the threads about pulling it out and just decided I would give her a try for a little while. And while there was a little change not enough for me to say it was worth it. I don't even think there was enough to make it worth pullin it out to race or even just dyno. Am I the only one that has found this to be true?

A Ohio buddy of mine dynoed once with and without his #10 plate in his 94 CTD. Said he dynoed 350HP with the #10, 390HP without it.

I personally don't want to run plate-less b/c of the horror stories of the rack breaking and what-not. Don't wanna start :-{} so just do a search. Your bound to find the old Cummins Corvette thread :-laf

Anyhow I'm going to experiment with a 0-plate once I get my new SBC DD in Feburary.

Hook a trailer to it or find a mountain pass and I'll bet you see a difference. You probably just haven't needed the extra fuel removing it will cause.

Close off your wastegate and your disable the AFC line and you should feel a nice diefference. Your wastegate is probably opening too soon. You probably have a crap load of smoke at WOT and full boost. Get more air in there and you should find another 40HP or so. You aren't going to drop the rack or anything the plug up at the front of the pump stops it after the plate so you'll be fine with it out as long as you want.

I would close the wastegate off if i actually had one. I have the non wastegated housing on. and the afc was already disabled. And as heavy as my truck is naturally (wet approx 8700) You would think that there would be just enough to feel any gain. All i got really was a little more smoke. I'm not all that worried i guess, I never planned on running with out it I just wanted to see what the difference was. I kept hearing or seein on here that it made monster difference I thought I would share that I tried it with a mildly bombed truck and really didnt feel any significant difference.

Like Bill said, you need more air. You are just injecting more fuel than you can burn. I bet it smokes like a mother at WOT w/full spool. That 16cm housing ain't helping the spoolup either. 16cm housing on a -35:p ... . all the lag of a -40, none of the airflow:rolleyes:

Basically, get more air into it, plus bump up your timing to around 19* or so, that'll get the fuel in there sooner and help it burn better and help with some of your smoke. I know I gained about 30whp when I went from the custom ground plate to nothing. The power is there you just ain't burning the fuel.
