So a Detroited 70 might live?

An 80 would be nice... . but let's say I get it for $500... . which would be a good deal. Then I have to spend another $500 on a Detoit..... I'm just trying to figure out the benefits of the 80... .

Pinion size is the main adavntage.

What do you want to do?

I felt the 70 should never have been offered, it is too light for our tq. Make a nice front axle.

Okay Gene... . I'll go shopping for an 80..... there, you happy now!?

I want to pull a little bit..... you know... . here and there.

There's no way in heck I'll be competitive, but it'll be fun!

Thats how I see it too. There are tons of pulls around me in the summer. Yeah, just small rinky-dink county fair crap, but its a lot closer than a drag strip, besides these six shooters are a waste in a 1/4 mile. IMO.

$500 for a detroit, that aint too bad. I could probably swing that. That would eliminate that weak link. Drive shafts must be next?

Driveshafts maybe, but u-joints for sure, you can up-grade to the 1480 series stuff, like Gene just did, and mine is in progress, sorta.

Later,Rob
