Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Pullin the Cummins out

Well my pistons are cracked, so I am pullin my engine. Where do I get that detailed Cummins mechanics manual? Marine pistons are going in and these Mauhl pieces of trash are going in the garage. I am plannin on takin off the head then pullin the engine w/ an engine hoist. Do yall have any advice on making this easier?

Once everything is all set and clear (Trans undone , motor mounts etc) Pull the front wheels and let the front end down as far as she can go (As far so that the hoist still slides under). That is a Good idea to pull the head as that will shave off 224 lbs right off the top. I am sure you allready knew the front end deal tho. I'm sure someone will chime in with some real meat'n'potatas tricks tho. The manuals have been coming from a source somewhere other than that of whats in the back oif the owners manual. I'll check posts for ya.





P. S don't forget the ground strap as I have made that mistake before it's an easy one to miss for some reason.
