pulling a '92 D350 behind my '97 2500

buddy of mine offered me a killer deal on a '92 D350... it's got a bad transmission. only problem is it's 600 miles away. when I say "killer" I mean like turn around and part it out for 600-800% profit killer...



I don't have a trailer or even a brake controller, and that's a pretty big/heavy truck...



you think I could pull it home from w/ a tow bar? or I guess more importantly, you think it's safe to pull it home w/ a tow bar? it's pretty flat land between here and there...

if you're getting such a killer deal on the truck, let other's on here have a piece of the cake. I'm sure one of the hotshotters on here wouldn't mind picking it up for ya. As far as towbar, i wouldn't trust ANYTHING behind my 20,000 dollar truck on a towbar. Or u could buy a trailer, depending on what your plans are with the truck (puller, dragger)

yeah, I didn't even consider having someone else pick it up for me...



I've pulled a 3500lb car 6hrs home on a tow bar... no problems... but that big old dually weighs just a TAD more than 3500! LOL!

I have towbared both my 3500's behind my other 3500. I have pulled over 2000 miles like that. It is the most stressfull ride ever. 1 3500 will easyly get the other 3500 sideways.

yeah, that's my fear... I mean, I know I could do it if I had to, but it'd definately be a stressful drive.

If the truck is in south or south east Tx, I make trips from Victoria to Houston relatively often.

I haul with a 26' GN.

And using a towbar for anything more then across town is not something I ever wish to do again.
