I was passing the other night and the truck surged a little in 6th gear. Felt kind of like running with a pulled hamstring. I pulled up the p0234 code, but the truck has not repeated the sputtering.

Does the computer pull fuel or timing, or do nothing at all?

I have a HT Turbo htbg with boost fooler.

Any thoughts?

sounds to me like the boost fooler is set too high or failed to limit the boost signal seen by the ECM before it gets unhappy. As I understand it, when the ECM sees high boost, it de-fuels. if the de-fueling does not result in a reduction in boost, it throws a code.

you have the after market turbo and boost foooler but no additional fueling?

That's correct. My stock turbo developed a crack that was walking, as well as my manifold. I replaced everything on that side a few weeks ago. I'm going to be adding a box sometime in the near future.

I'm not sure on the boost fooler, it's just a resistor, so I'm not sure if it can be modified.

I get that code almost everyday. I have the ez boost elbow on. I'm also running the adj ramifier. I use to run the ez but when I got the ramifier I out the ez on my dads truck. I got the code with the ez also. With the boost elbow, 40lbs is no problem to reach. I live in the mountains so when I'm driving up the hill or towing And I hold anythnig above 30lbs for to long I get the code. Turn the key and reset it and every ince in a while run the scan tool on it and clear it all. I also get the fuel codes so I guess its time for a pusher pump.

A single resistor won't work very well. When you add a box, throw away the resistor boost fooler and your boost codes should go away. Do us a favor and get a box that can be configured for no fueling but keeps the boost fooler active (many do this. Quad is an example). you'll feel a big difference I think because the electronic boxes do a better job of boost fooling.

Is this plugged into the factory plug that goes to the electronic wastegate, if so this is not a boost fooler. I may be way off here but I run one of these to keep the ecm into thinking it's still plugged into the factory turbo. Anything to fool boost has to plug into either the ecm or the map sensor.

That is what I was getting at. If it looks like this, then it is not a boost fooler, it is an electronic wastegate fooler. That would explain your problem.

Gwoody,

You're right on! Paul stated it was a boost fooler, possibly just a misnomer:confused:

I'm most likely going to be installing the quad race box with in the next week.

AK, it's a high tech turbo HTBG (s300g) and it did come with the turbo.

Great, I think most any pressure box will have the boost fooler built in so you'll be good to go.

So far so good. It sings pretty good and mileage seems to be ok, down a bit empty, but up when towing. Runs cooler as well. I can already see a need for an upgrade:D But it does pull harder than it did stock.

I put down 291rwhp/535rwtq, so for no extra fuel, I'm pretty happy.
