No, you do not have to pull the cab. You should get a Clymer or Chilton repair manual, if you do not have one. Unhook batteries, label all necessary wiring and unhook. Remove the radiator for extra clearance. If an auto transmission, remove flexplate to torqueconvertor bolts. Unhook exhaust and remove starter, intake, heater hoses, fuel lines, throttle cable, etc.
 
just pull the front bumper and radiator it will come right out of there . put jacks under the cab on the frame to enable the pan clearance.
