Thanks, TDR Staff

MidWest TDR Meeting is August 19th

A big thank you to our moderators!?!?!!

First I would like to thank Tom P. for getting a few rams together for the pull. with out his help with the track people this would have been a non event for our trucks.

Other than a short rain shower before things got started the whole event was great.

We had about 8 Dodges and 1 Ford signed up for the pull. I managed to pull 300' plus a few inches wich was good enough for first place, a trophy & 200 clams. When I saw the truck go past the 300' mark let off and stopped. It was then that i found out that it was a floating flinish line and I should've kept going. I don't think I could've gone much further as I was loosing traction fast.

Tom fished a close second in his big & tall Ram. He was in 4WL in 2nd and just ran out of speed. If he was in 3rd he would've taken first.

I was in 4WL in 3rd with the Power Edge on #3, power was not a problem. At 3/4 of the way down the track I still hadn't floored it and was able to hold 2700 rpm and goose it up to 3000. With that gearing my EGT's stayed right around 1000 deg.
My son said that it smoked pretty heavy off the line but cleared up before I had gone 50'.

Tom, what happened to the guy with the older ram (400,000 mile guy). I looked like he only made it 50 ' or so. I wanted to stop and talk with you guys after the pull but I had a long drive home. If you got my pull on video I would like to see it.

Great time, nice people, great pulls. .

Sounds like you did well! I love hearing about hot rodding #ad

Is your clutch smelling burnt or did you opt not to slip it off the line?

If anyone got any video I have a page it could be hosted on.

Did anybody hear about a pull on Thursday night. I heard a 24v truck kabloomed a turbo and went home on a stretcher #ad

Keep up the good work!

HAVAC, I just had a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch installed on Friday and was concerened that it might not hold but it did just fine. On the start I kept the revs low until things got hooked up then I poured the coals to it.

One of Toms buddies to video of the whole class. I hope I can get a clip of at least my pull.

Yes on of my friends did get a viedo of the whole class but it is on 8mm. I tried to transfer it to vhs tonight but he taped it at a different speed than the 8mm cam corder I used to try to tape it from. I'm dropping it off to him in the am and he is going to try to transfer it to vhs tape. I will talk to David from the ford site and see if he or Mel got a good viedo of the pulls. You all have to see the great white dodge pull in person. It was awsome to watch. Lorrettas truck broke on thur or friday and she couldn't pull. I would like to say thank's to Dave and Lorretta for coming out and pulling with us. I would also Like to thank all of those that were able to come out and pull or watch us. I had a blast.

This was a very well organized event. It was a long trip, but if they pull diesels again in Sept. we'll be back out. Tom, thanks for inviting us, we had a great time. Maybe next time we won't have to sign the waiver stating that there are no modifications... .
