Pulling the gearbox

Call me crazy, but I wanted to get a jump on new clutch install. I started before my manual got here, figured it was the same as a couple of 5 speeds I had done. The 6 speed has a different way to take the shifter out. I have removed all the boots and the long lever. Does the short lever come out( if so by the 4 machine screws) or will this thing drop enough to clear the floor. This is my only hold up. One more ? . Are you guys replacing the flywheel bolts when reinstalling? Grade 8 ? What torque?

Yes, remove the short shift rod by taking out the 4 screws holding it in. Be sure to reseal everything when you re-assemble it. I have done dozens of clutches, and we rarely use new flywheel bolts. Torque them to 101 ft-lb and you'll be good to go.
