Pulling with 3rd gen auto

Wondering if anyone has pulled (truck pull skid) with an auto and how hard it is on a stock transmission? I pulled my old truck with a 6 speed and south bend clutch and had no problems. But now with my new truck with the 48re I was wondering how hard on it I would be? Plus with the edge w/att I think the transmission would hate life. Just wondering???
