I am just curious as to why I cant seem to pull a trailer while I have a plow on my truck. i see plenty of guys running around with flatbeds loaded with a skid loader draggin behind them, and doesnt seem to be a problem. I tried pulling my dads 24' enclosed trailer (EMPTY) and I can barely hold 55MPH with my comp off without the coolent temps hitting 220. Now, even with the Comp on (3x3) the EGTs arnt that high (maybe 950 max) and are the same without the box on, but the coolent just skyrockets to 220 like nothing. I even dropped the plow down to a couple inches off the ground so that the grill would have some air, and I can hear the fan whirring along very loudly, so WTH is the deal? I would think that I should beable to do this if someone can drag around a heavy skid loader while also having a plow attached? Got any ideas? Thanks!

The reason is the plows shape makes the wind shoot up & down & blocks air almost completely from the radiator. My brothers 04. 5 got temps to 240* just trying to drive up the blue mountains of PA with no load in the back.

yeah yeah, I know WHY it does it, BUT how the hell do these guys do it. I hate to admit this, but I see Superpoopys pulling around there skidloaders all the time with thier plow attached. And not just a few, I MEAN TONS OF THEM, so why am I haveing an issue? I mean, according to the overhead temp gauge, (that is right behind the grill) says 55* usually, SO, it still doesnt make sense, that means if it was 55* out, and I had no plow on, It would be overheating, no? Something else seems to be causing this, at least I think so...

I've pulled my loaded 24' enclosed(about 10,000lbs. ) with the 9' western hanging off the front for about 300 miles of city/highway mix. Truck wasnt shut off for 13hours straight. No problems with egt's or overheating. Also had about 1000lbs. in the bed too. Oh and cruise was set @70 on the highway.
