Pullrite hitch for 03 HD update

I have had my new Pullrite 25. 5 Superfifth hitch sitting in my garage since early September, almost a month before my truck was delivered. Due to the ensuing confusion regarding the drilling of the new hydroformed frame, I decided not to use the typical universal mounting brackets and instead opted to wait for Pullrite's Superbracket kit to be developed. Pullrite has now developed Superbracket kits for their entire line of hitches, the 25. 5 Superfifth for the 3500 2WD being the last to be done. This past Thurday, my hitch was finally installed and I am ready for spring. Oo.

I will admit that the 25. 5 Superfifth is serious overkill on my part even for the next trailer we are planning to purchase but I liked the design of the 25. 5 and figured having double the capacity that I needed was REALLY playing it safe.

Pullrite's entire line of hitches for the Dodges now have Superbracket kits available. These mounting kits require absolutely no drilling of the frame. The mounts use a combination of bolts using existing holes and clamping by extremely well designed high strength brackets.

Pullrite has done a really great of engineering their line of mounting systems for the new heavy duty trucks. For those of us that are concerned about drilling into the new frame (see the new issue of TDR) Pullrite provides an extremely well built solution for towing our fivers. I will post pictures of my installation as they become available.

The hitch is mounted on a square steel frame that is secured to the frame of the truck.

That is 1/2 inch steel plate and a 3/4 in pin holding the hitch!:D

By the way; I have no vested interest in Pullrite and no association with the company apart from buying their hitch.

Casey,

I had a similiar experience with PullRite. I, too, was concerned about the drilling, etc and I contacted PullRite and they assured me that they were working on no drill brackets for the new Dodges and would have them for my truck as soon as they got a truck to work on. They were true to their word and kept me informed of the progress. My brackets were shipped out in December and I had them mounted with a 20,500 Super Five hitch. I thought about getting a 25,500 model like you have but my trailer is too small for that big guy you have.

I have never had the pleasure of working with such a customer oriented company as PullRite. I just could not believe the personal service I received. The quality of the product is beyond my expectations.

The base rails below are made of 1/2 inch plate steel.

Of course in retrospect this hitch is overkill for this truck but the 20. 5 is just as well made and would have been a better choice for what I am pulling. The 25. 5 looks cool though and if anything ever causes that hitch to bend I don't want to be around. The folks at Pullrite have told me that in the 25 years they have NEVER had a failure due to a defect in a hitch. Pretty good record.

Just enough for a Connecticut Yankee and a Smoke Eater from Alabama. Maybe just a bit left over for Turbo although I understand she gets obnoxious after a couple. :D :D :D :-laf :-laf

The Pullrite hitch plate (head) is common to most of the hitches they make. The differences lie in the base, base rails and frame hardware.
