Questions about my KIT Companion 5th Wheeler

I found a used Pullrite Superglide 24k model 3600 on ebay last week. I just got it home today. I came with only the posts that mount in the bed, no brackets.

I have a couple of questions. My truck is a 1995 longbed, 2500. I have a sleeper cab in the bed of the truck so I loose 29 inches at the front of the bed. I was using a manual slide with a RV5 extension on the kingpin. I didn't like this setup so I got the Pullrite.

Since I am going to be technically mounting the hitch on a longbed truck, will the Pullrite mounting kit, (1995-02 Dodge w/ 6’ Bed—Bracket #3516) work on my truck? Also I have airbags at the rear and they may get in the way.

The Pullrite site lists the 3516 bracket kit for around $900. Does anyone know a better price? Or maybe someone on the TDR had a 2nd gen but upgraded to a 3rd gen and still has the 2nd gen brackets?

I have thought about making brackets, but I don't know how the posts attach under the bed. Thanks

I have the Pullrite in my short bed and I also have air bags with no mounting problems. Since your truck is a 95 you can drill the frame for the mounts. The 2003 and up have boxed frames and require clamp type mounts. Call Pullrite and they will fix you up with the mounts you require. You can also get the installation manual from them.

I would check here:

Low Priced Reese Fifth Wheel Hitches and Accessories from Big Discount RV

and for the fitment questions a call into pullrite PullRite has a SAFER, STRONGER, BETTER designed hitch for you would be a good idea. I am sure they would be happy to advise you as it is to their advantage to make sure their products are fitted and used correctly even if bought second hand.

I bought mine from the 1st link but before purchase called the 2nd link to get the details and proper part numbers to ask for, they were great.

I have a set of brackets from my 2005 for a pullrite if you are interested.
