Mine follows the crown of the road, but it definitely doesn't pull right. My 2nd gen pulled right pretty bad, so I know what it's like.

What I have noticed is that the front is not set properly for the crown in most roads. As such you do have to turn the wheel a little to the left on these roads but on flatter roads it goes straight. I am going to speak with a friend who does front end alignments to see if I should have this adjusted

Mine does the exact same as yours! It drifted right when I first bought it. Now it definitely pulls right. But hey, there is nothing wrong with this truck according to the geniuses. It is all my imagination and I am to picky and so on and so on! Get it right D. C. before Ford does!

I have noticed the same thing. My 1999 1500 pulled right from day one. Never did get it fixed. This truck follows the crown of the road, but no noticeable pull.

Mine pulled right until I put the after market ball joint on so it could be aligned. Now it goes straight. I believe some of you say it goes straight when it actually pulls slightly right. I believe you get used to a certain amount of pull and unconsciously hold a correction. I know the first 100 miles after I had the adjustable ball joint installed I though It pulled LEFT. I had to get used to not holding a correction.

hank,

i called the manufctr of the balljoint and they said it was for 2nd gen. so i guess they cld be interchangable but of course my dlr wont go for it under wrrnty as the # is for 2nd gen cuz part # for non adjustable is different from 2nd to 3rd gen

thanks for your help in the past. guess i gotta wait some more

I talked to the manufacturer and so did the owner of my alignment shop before the install. At that time he told me as well as the owner of the alignment shop that the new ball joint was for the '03. I had it installed and it is a perfect fit. The local Dodge dealer warranted the entire installation. Didn't cost me a cent. I've had it on the truck for slightly more that 5000 miles now and would not consider going back to OEM. My only issue is that the new ball joint does not have a boot on it to keep dirt out. It does have a zerk so I grease it every 2000 miles to force any dirt out. I inspected it a couple of days ago and it's as tight as the day it was installed. Even if it only last 50000 miles it will be worth it to have my truck go straight down the road. I'll replace it with another one if DC hasn't come up with something better.

guess i need to find the phone no again and give em a call. i believe it was stemph, the mnufctr. maybe i and the dlr talked to the wrong guy there

muddymess,

Run a search for that thread we had going several months ago. I posted the part number and I think telephone number. If you can't find it let me know on this thread or PM me and I'll try to come up with something.

You should be able to get it installed for under $100 if your dealer won't warranty the work. I know you have been bugged with this issue since you bought your truck. I think you would be more satisfied with an adjustable ball joint that needs greasing every 2000 miles than a truck that pulls right. Who knows, it might last 200000 if greased regularly. Hank

mine pulls slightly right, have to keep the wheel at about 7 and 1 instead of 9 and 3. goes hard right in the right lane and very slight in the left lane.
