Nothing more than a silly trade name. . . ATS manifold does have larger exhaust passages but still comes up short compared to a true header design. Biggest improvement over stock is more rugged, durable design. In some ways I think the 3rd Gen ATS manifold is better than the 24 & 12v design since the end cylinders don't take such a sharp turn right at the exhaust port but it's still pretty tight for the back 3.

I have it on my truck, it is beefy. You should be able to reuse your manifold gaskets but recommend that you get a new turbo flange gasket. And get a hacksay for the coolant line bracket that you have to cut to get the damn thing in.
 
What makes an exhaust manifold a "pulse" manifold. I've got one coming from ATS to replace the cracked stocker.
Would you all believe it's still coming? ATS will never see another penny from me after this mess.

"Yeah, we've got 14 of them sitting on the shelf"

Three days later after asking for tracking info:

"Well yeah, they were on the shelf but had to go to the coaters first. It'll ship later today or tomorrow"

Five days later:

"They just got back. It'll ship either today or tomorrow. "

That was last Tues... supposedly it went out Wed. No show today.

I guess that's what I get for spending a measely 2. 5 x what a factory replacement would have cost. Damn good thing I'm still able to run with the one I've got.

Two weeks ago when I ordered it I had all sorts of free time to install it. Now if it ever does get here it'll have to sit for a couple days until I can find the time to get it on.
 
i put mine on this weekend and i really didnt notice much difference. i can still peg my 1500* egt gauge. I really cant tell if it spools faster or not. i do feel better knowing that the rear cylinders can breath now though. very simple install.
